Mitron app is a short video platform that has similar features like Titktok.
Only launched yesterday and users complained for API errors but a lot of them lauded the ‘Made in India’ attempt for Tiktok replacement.

I feel there is a potential for this app only if it could manage to fix its problem really soon. Do we have any dimers active on Tiktok?
For non TikTok users: Do we need more self made video spamming?
Are their any incentives for making content?
No one seems to be posting original content there
For now..there are multiple fake handles, bulk uploading tiktok videos of random people
Concern raised here are real
Try to avoid any anonymous app without knowing even founder or company, not just this but for other apps too.
Downloads in million not a criteria if team is still unknown.
However apps like tiktok with known team also not trustworthy. But atleast we know team behind tiktok.
After watching videos of voilence with animals and no action on time by tiktok, there is no reason left for not to ban such app. Some woke people may defend tiktok thinking it indian vs Chinese fight. That’s their opinion.

TikTok is Chinese. TikTok is evil. So our IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad gave us an alternative. Mitron app. He said it’s an indigenously developed app and was a ‘great platform’.
Only problem.
It is NOT developed by an Indian. In fact it was developed by a Pakistani firm QBoxus.
The app Mitron is just the repackaged version of TicTic, a Pakistani app. The ‘developer’ from IIT Roorkee, who ‘bought’ the code for the app for just $34, didn’t even bother to make the necessary security changes and fix the bugs that allow the app to be easily hacked. Riding on our patriotism and a Pakistani code, the app has been downloaded more than 5 million times this week already with 4.7 rating .
Khair apne ko kya. The flavor of the season is Chinese apps and Pakistani insects. Let us wait till the flavor is back to Chinese insects and Pakistani apps.

The report says that the app was never really made by an IIT student in the country. Instead, its entire source code, including its features and user interface, was bought from Qboxus, a Pakistani software developer company.
The founder of Qboxus, Irfan Sheikh, told News18 that the company had sold the source code to promoters of the Mitron app for around Rs 2,600. He added that while Qboxus expects customers to use the code and build their own product, Mitron’s developers have taken our exact product, changed the logo and uploaded it on their store.
But there are gaps with respect to the app, with not many details available regarding its privacy policy. In fact, its promoters use the pseudonym Shopkiller to avoid having to disclose their identity. The app’s privacy policy page on Play Store also has no information whatsoever.
