its a reliance gsm number . can I get the number without police complaint xerox etc ? whats the reliance policy . I want to re-register it in my name now. re-kyc with addhar . mobile was left(forgotten) unattained on apartment terrace . don't know who has taken .but neighbourly person has switched it off . so no simcard with me now to show it to reliance. it's a Nokia Asha 501..

Get the SIM blocked and go to a Reliance store and say the original owner (some friend or relative) cannot come as he is out of town or no more and give some proof that you actually are the owner like last 2-3 o/g calls or SMSes, recharges, handset IMEI on which the SIM was last used etc. they can help by making a new registration on the number.. it all depends on your behaviour and tackling the situation.

i myself went to airtel, which was in my name… they are not willing to give duplicate sim, untill i show them originals

I doubt if you will get a new SIM if you are not the owner. Earlier they were lax and it resulted in lots of frauds. Now they are strict, the owner can easily get a replacement SIM. No FIR required. If you are not the owner, you cannot get a replacement SIM even with FIR.

Which operator? If it’s so easy to get a duplicate SIM, better to avoid that operator.

tell them to convert into postpaid with ur name and id
show them some proof that u were operating this no
(i had the same issue 6 years back)
vodafone resolved the issue hope reliance do the same

I think the solution has been provided already. I went to Airtel store few days ago to get a name change done on one prepaid sim I use. What I was suggested is that they do not offer transfer for pre-paid sims. One solution they had is to get the prepaid sim converted to postpaid first and then show them proofs of operation, for this they said they will ask for two or three recent recharge details on the number and then details of last few calls made.

But where you would be stuck is converting the sim from Prepaid to Postpaid. Even for this they ask for some ID/Address proof. So in case you can get hold of the original owner you can get some ID proofs.

Few things I want to ask

Sim card was taken around 10 years ago. Without giving my documents . I use the number regularly,done many recharges.
I do have the mobile bill (IMEI number ) . but I don’t think Reliance will help me to block the imei without confirming my ownership.

what is the process of blocking my handset though imei ?

Though I had registered the number online on reliance portal and the actuall document holder name was showing on the portal(I do not remember his name) after login with OTP. but now when I try to login its says password invalid and asking for OTP. which I can not give.

Only way left if. R Gsm can help me to get my number by verifying only last recharges ,frequent called number etc .

I am facing same issue now, wrote many time to Airtel but they guys doesn’t seem interested to find any solution. Every time, they are just saying regret it’s not possible. However i asked for every possible option.
I am not sure what to do now? Can anyone suggest me plzzz
