Please suggest a phone under 8k for a worker with emphasis on durability (less issues). He will be using it watching videos.

Thanks

How about Samsung M02s – will cost around 7200 with all offers for 3/32?

You can go for it. I have used Snapdragon 435 in redmi 4 and m02s’ processor is about 25 percent more powerful than that. Also you will be avoiding chinese product. Also 435 had worked wonderfully for three years.

For most of the mobiles putting extra 1000rs to increase ram from 3gb -4gb and storage by 32gb is not worth the money. If it 500 extra then considerable. Because whole 4gb ram is rarely used. most of the time you will be using only less than even 2.5gb. So basically you are putting extra 1000 for 32gb storage.

4/64gb model will come at 8500, Poco M2 is for 8549 (for HDFC card holders).

It is so worth it. Makes a huge difference. I am just about getting by with 6GB RAM in my Poco F1 running crDroid Q, not garbage MIUI. Only a few background apps, most of which I keep frozen after use. Social media apps include TG and WA which unlike FB, IG, SC etc aren’t very demanding. Major use is web browsing. After opening 15-25 tabs some tabs will always reload after returning to them after a while. Despite 1GB RAM available (not free) almost always. ZRAM set to 2GB. LMK heavily tweaked.
3GB Redmi Note 3 still running Nougat as later versions use up too much RAM leaving little for user apps. In a 2GB Redmi 3s I have had to switch to lightweight alternatives.

How are the new Micromax mobiles? Spec wise look better than the competition. Anyone using one personally?

Everyone should buy according to their requirements. From 2gb to 3gb, it does make difference but i don’t think from 3gb-4gb, it does unless you are a heavy user using 15-20 tabs at a time. 😃

Ofc I am not having that many tabs open in a 3GB device nevermind 2GB ( it is possible but with JS and images off). When I was running Pie ROMs in my Redmi Note 3 I did wish that it had a 4GB variant as that would have catered to the edge cases as well. There’s a significant difference in moving from 3 to 4GB. The latter has been the baseline for a decent multitasking experience for sometime now. More RAM over a modestly faster CPU.

smile These are manual labour workers who purchase outdated phones from local shopkeepers for 8-10k. Last time I had purchased Redmi 8A for 6.5k for one. This time I’ll be able to utilize bank offers (& Amazon coupon) for a decent deal for something durable.
