It's all about how effectively one can advertise themselves. No relation to need or urgency.

I had once created a funding campaign for my mother's treatment but people pinged me asking to prove I;'m not scammer for giving 100 Rs., even though all medical documents were already uploaded. Seeing the response and type of people contacting, I closed it in sometime.

The main difference between the 2 cases is that in 1st she's asking help in exchange of nothing meanwhile in 2nd people are paying to entertain themselves as it's easier for people to spend on themselves. Same goes for your case of campaign & all other such cases.

There are many people earning huge sums & becoming so much famous posting bs. It may sound so wrong but that's what people want or it's easy.

I agree with you, people just want to see drama. If you are active on reddit, maybe you are already aware of this case. A ~20 year old guy was fighting a fatal disease and created a funding campaign for himself and asked people for any kind of help, both in terms of money and also blood/plasma donation. All he got was cfbr comments. Later people got to know that he died in few days and everyone started showing sympathy for him and acting all teary that if they knew this would happen they would have done something before.

That's what the sad reality is & we are no different either. As we all are selfish animals. Technically if we will see around there are so many people in need that even if we give all we got even then it will be like pinch of salt in sea that's how the real world is.

IMO the best way to self help is to offer something in exchange whatever it maybe like we might end up paying a kid ₹50 for some useless pen or flower instead of giving ₹10 to the same kid begging.

Maybe there are many fake cases ,people misuse these things so that's why genuine people are more concern and alert.
