Hello guys,
I’m moving out of Pune (going abroad) next month for 2 years and I have to shift my household items (this includes everything).
I can think of two options:
1. Rent out some place and shift everything there.
Pros – all the items are safe and Don’t have to sell anything
Cons – have to pay for rent for 2 yr which is > cost of item
2. Buy a small flat
Pros – same as above + can act as an investment
Cons – Investment >>>>>>> cost of item.
Looking for some suggestions and let me know if anyone has any offer too😉

If you salary allows then buy secondhand / new items as per requirement. You will need to accumulate everything over a period of time so buy the essentials first. Also depends on the city, at times you tend to adjust better in another city and don’t want to go back to your hometown so first go there and check the vibe.

And one more thing.. Don’t buy a flat.. Selling it can be a hassle and you may not be able to liquidate it soon.. Also lots of paperwork involved so better to just rent if staying for 2 years

Exactly I have thought about that too. There are chances of fraud as well.

You should check storage units facility also , that will be cheap too and will keep the items secure too till you are back.

20-25L is the minimum amt u need to pay to buy new place in pune that can resell easily
Renting same will 2 to 2.4 LPA

Prices arent going down for flats so its gonna make return

My suggestion is Keep rent as a back up plan, if u dont find anything good which can sell easily later and safe investment get something on rent

So you have to look for both options, Wish this was an year back when i was there we could have shared expenses half half rent, your rooms could have been locked up

Buy a flat, shift all items to the flat and rent it out as fully furnished, you will get more rent.
Buy a 2BHK, lock all your items in one room and rent it out as 1BHK.

This seems perfect if u have the budget for buying the flat…
