Need a headphone that doesn't cause ear pain

Budget - anything thats below 3500.

I had tried a lot of brands and different price range but pain is unbearable. After 10 min of usage, ear starts paining even on lower volume. This never happened with the ones I got free with earlier nokia phones. I would listen on them for hours until I fell asleep.

But the recent ones aren't like that. They all definitely have better sound quality, bass, noise cancellation, looks etc and what not but the comfort over longer than 5-10 mins usage is not there ☹️

If anyone has a good headphone that can be used for more than 10mins without pain, pls share the name/series of your headphone.

Try the smaller ear-tips which is usually provided with every pair of headphones these days. Improper fit might be the reason behind pain. Sony XB-55AP would be my recommendation in this case.

If you are looking for a TWS. Jabra Elite 2 are one of the lightest and best fitting ones. I barely feel them after a few minutes.

Or, you can buy the old fashioned ones. https://www.headphonezone.in/products/venture-e...

Apart from being comfortable, VE Monk has a cult following among audiophiles too!

The ones I have tried were not from apple but everyone has noise cancellation feature.. so now if my assumption is correct then noise cancellation feature is the one that's causing ear pain on me. That'll also explain why the old nokia basic headphone doesn't cause ear pain.

If the earphones you use have anc then that can be the cause. Generally people get used to it but if you are having issues let go of anc headphones and get a good pair of normal headphone..

turn off anc fully and listen to music for a few minutes, if everything is well then anc is causing it. anc doesn't suit everyone, it causes pain and headaches + @saucap

Earphones --- I have been using Sony 155AP and now 255AP and keep wearing whole day. I don't even feel if I have something in ears. Sound quality don't need to explain to you.

I do use the smaller ones and even tried bigger ones too just in case. I even checked my ears with an ENT specialist and thankfully, everything is ok.

I don't have this war pain problem with the only surviving nokia headphone I've but as it's a very old model, its doesn't have noise cancellation nor volume/call in buttons.

I would like to have one not just for calls , radio but also watching online vids at night.

If not found, I think my best option is to get a portable, clear sound speaker that I can just keep near my head.

Had a Phillips one but it died as soon as it's 2 years warranty expired on 2018. It was not cheap either 😑

What type of earphones are you using? Where does it pain outer ear or ear cannal? Never had this issue with any of my in Ear headphones even though i use it for more then 6-7 hours. Maybe the earphone model is an issue.

I own an in-ear wired bought bcz of noise cancellation and it does the job well but causes ear pain. even tried over the ears ones too, not mine but borrowed from cousins and friends with other brands, so to check if compatible or not.

I read in an article that ear shapes are unique too among people and it can be also a cause for ear pain due to incompatible with models.

Looks my ear shape is not compatible with newer models 😟

Did found a bose model that didn't cause pain but it's 7k 😭

Try earbuds (ones that look like apple airpods) instead of in-ear earphones.

My Ears are also smaller so, from the very start of my life I was using Only Sony Brand be it a Wired (SONY MDR EX-150AP) or Wireless for the last 4 years, earlier two years were Sony WI- C200 (Normal) and the then after that, I upgraded to Sony WI XB400 (The best comfort+good base)

So, next time use SONY ....Because they are really good at it! At least just try out in CROMA and RELIANCE DIGITAL Offline Stores there you can actually check out these models.

Realme buds 2 are great earphones for ₹600. The sound quality is good for the price and out of all wired earphones I've used, these were the most comfortable. I've ordered it 5-6 times till now for myself and family members. sweat_smile

Yea, there are stores that offer real experience on their headphone models and that's where I found one from bose but didn't fit my budget.

Now I'm hearing about another type so will try those soon

Never heard of this brand.. then again I don't know every one out there 😅

Looks cool but painful looking straps...?

It is showing delivery to my pincode but hopefully I find it offline first. Better to try out to then deal with unnecessary return and refund

The straps helps with the headphones, they distribute the weight out of your inner ear...
These are basically Chinese etc brands which build good sound quality headphones for cheap. It will be way better then branded products in the same price range.

If is available through diffrent websites and some of them do have physical stores. It will be hard to find in tier 2 or 3 cities offline.

Even if you do not get the exact earphones go to a shop and check diffrent headphones with diffrent designs.

FYI- Go to an ent and see if you don't have an ear infection or easily irritable ear canal. Get it checked so you can get  that risk out of the way....

Thanks for the info.

And already checked with an ENT, that was one of my first fear too.

Just looked up. Found it's in air pods. Also has relation to noise cancellation.
