Need help in unbanning mobile number/account on IRCTC
Hello,
One of my IRCTC account and mobile number associated with it got deactivated almost 7-8 years back.
Reason they gave is due to " 47/Use of autofill Scripts or Enormous hitting on site". I hardly have used IRCTC and even travelled via Indian Rail. I did not understand then (~ 2015) also why they did it. Also they did not provide any proof.
Now I again requested [email protected] by email to activate so that I can use number again.
They gave exactly same reason. I have asked them to contact me to their esclation manager. But I have low hopes as nothing happened earlier also in 2015.
I do not understand this strange policy of ban for life of particular number.
Has anyone of you gone through this? OR do you know someone in IRCTC tech team who can help?
What is way forward as now I use only 1 number. Closed my other Jio number already.
Also before anyone says "kuch toh gadbad hai daya", I am saying this openly again- I hardly ised IRCTC (May be max 10 tickets booked till 2015).
Any suggestions are welcome.

Or some browser extension, there were some very popular browser extensions back then for irctc website.
Try saying you bought this new sim and you are not aware of what the previous owner did.
I was using my irctc account to book my personal travel ticket only back in 2013 when I was a student. Hardly 4-6 tickets in a year. Once the train was late by 7 hours and so I filed an online TDR to get the refund. Next week I tried to login to my account, only to find it has been banned. Saw their email saying I have been banned for filing a fake TDR.
I requested, complained and escalated the issue to unban my account because it was a mistake to ban me as nothing unsolicited activity or wrong information was given by me.
But nothing happened. They refused to rectify it.
Last year I again tried to get my account unbanned by emailing them, thinking that they may have changed from 2013 to 2022. But again I was proved wrong.
So my suggestion to you is that these babus in railways are hard nutj*bs toeing the same line since ages and they will never accept their mistake. So don't waste your time on these ********. Move on, get a new mobile number and make a new account.
You can try Rail Madad. That's how I was able to get refunds for failed transactions 2.5 years later. However if their system correctly identified you using some extension or the other for booking tickets no matter how few then I don't think there's any recourse.

Never, I booked tatkal only 4-5 times that too manually

I have already raised issue.
Now they have asked me proof of holding this mobile and aadhar card.
Sent it to them , let's see what happens.

Exactly, I also thought same. From 2015 I thought things might have changed.
Problem is I dont have other number. In fact I Closed my other number so using only 1.
Currently using IRCTC via my mother's number so no immediate issue but I find this totally wrong to award life ban on number.

How rail madad works ? Any links ?
I am 100% sure that I haven't used Any scripts, extensions etc.
Problem is they don't share what was done.
This is exactly like flipkart operates. No proofs are shared.
I am going to take this to higher ups via escalation. Consumer Forum , other govt agencies.
Thankfully nowadays government babus have to respond compared to earlier.
Experienced it with PF and property tax recently, it was pleasant surprise.

They have a presence on Twitter as well. I had tweeted to the Railway Minister of that time (AB? IIRC) which had been assigned to the Indian Railways who did the work of registering the complaint on RM. I think at the time I couldn't register the complaint myself on RM because the relevant option wasn't available or something.

I never expected but this time complaint was solved. My user id was reactivated and I am able to login successfully. I have done aadhar linking also now.
@mobileyog can i know the process, to what emails have you escalated this? and how were you able to recover your account? I'm trying to get mine unbanned

Provided mobile number and email id of my account.
They replied that your account is banned for some reason of using scripts and all.
I replied stating that i hardly booked tickets and never used any scripts.
Requested them to unban account.
They asked me for proof of holding mobile number (postpaid bill or letter for prepaid) and aadhar card showing mobile number.
I gave screenshot from myjio app and aadhar card.
After this they unbanned it.
