Am stuck in a pretty tricky situation and any help would be highly appreciated.

Firstly, the phone’s power/lock button started giving some problems, I searched online and came to know that, this was a quite frequent problem, with LG OG/ nexus 4 series, and could be solved by performing a factory reset, or by flashing a custom ROM. I took backup using Titanium Bakcup, and went ahead with factory resetting. But what I had forgotten was that, when I had bought this phone 7 months back, I had rooted my mobile, using SuperSU, without unlocking my bootloader. So, my phone used to work pretty well, until I was booting into recovery. When booted into recovery, it used to give the message, secure booting error, but on restarting the phone, it used to work normally. This time, while performing the reset, this got stuck in the same secure booting error screen, but also I cant get out of this since Power/Lock Screen button is also not working, currently.

Please help me out of this if possible. I am quite inexperienced in this matter, and hope to get some help, any, if possible. Any possible way to Flash CM or any other ROM, or stock Rom for that matter in this situation?

1) As per my understanding and your post you presently had no custom recovery installed on the device. Your Power button is completely dead (since you might have already tried Long Press Power or Power + Volume up for Download mode ! ) . You are presently stuck in no mans land . So basically you are presently stuck in fastboot mode (if all of the above is true !)

Checks that need to be done :-

Install the minimal Fastboot / ADB package (assuming you have no idea about android SDK !). Once you are done installing this your device should be detected by your PC in Fastboot mode. (Once you connect your device to the machine !)
Link:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?…

For checking whether it is detected in Fastboot mode :-
Open Command Prompt in windows / Linux . Change your path to the the directory where you have minimal ADB / Fastboot package installed.

Command :-
fastboot devices

It should list down the device connected to your machine .

Now to reboot your device :-
Command :-
fastboot reboot (to reboot back to the system !) (Do this !! )
fastboot reboot-bootloader (To reboot back into recovery mode !)

Again my understanding may be completely wrong regarding the state you are in , so please post a screenshot of the state you are in . So that pointing in the right direction is easier !

Sorry Bro, The only solution is to replace the digitizer which would be hard and hence you will need to replace the entire display.

You can enable a onscreen navigation bar if the capacitive touch buttons are the only thing not working for you ! It would be atleast workable !

Secure booting error! Cause: boot certification verify

this is the present scenario, even after installing and trying Minimal ADB and Fastboot, getting this … device not getting detected

This is not even recovery mode !
You are stuck at the boot logo itself !
adb devices won’t work since drivers are not loaded !
fastboot devices will also not work since your phone is not in fastboot mode !!

You have encountered a secure boot error ! You would need to flash stock LG JB ROM .tot using LGNPST !

Since Power button is not working let your phone discharge completely ! Once it switches off then you need to boot into download mode !
For Download mode :-
Keep both Power Up and Power down button pressed . and plug in a charging cable to your PC.
You should now be in the download mode !

Once in download mode flash .tot using LGNPST.
Below link describes each step with pictures :-

Please follow this !

Youtube video :-

You have to follow exact same procedures ! (I hope atleast your volume up and volume down buttons are working fine !)

@akshat .. You are a lifesaver dude!!! Nothing Less! Seriously…

Just completed the flashing part successfully. Sorry for the delay in my part for trying out your fix, caused due to the hectic work pressure during these pre-vacations deadlines..

Earlier I had tried from my Laptop once, but LGNPST was not getting installed cleanly in my system. Today, (yesterday, infact https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif) I borrowed one of my friends laptop for trying this out, and voila, I my LG OG was back in the same condition, as it was when I bought in Feb’14, all thanks to you and Shoaib (the OP in xdaforum)

But I can now see two problems still present:
1. My earlier sim is not getting detected.
2. The power button issue’s still the same.. additioanally, now the vol dwn key’s also starting to give infrequent problems… https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_sad.gif

Will look into these issues tomorrow mornin’ … but many thanks to you bro, for the wonderful help which you provided.. Most do not have the expertise which you do, But the few who have, seldom take the pains of explaining these to android noobs like us https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif … I can’t add karma’s due the forum restrictions.. but I can say you earned a lot of Karmas from a humanitarian perspectives.. keep rocking..always.. \m/

Nice to hear your issue got resolved !! Now that your issue is resolved i would suggest to unlock your bootloader at the earliest using freegee and install a custom recovery ! Go for Philz Touch recovery or TWRP ! Having a custom recovery adds power to your device in terms of what you can do from recovery mode.
Once custom recovery is installed would suggest you to install any AOSP based ROM which will give you complete compatibility with Xposed . With Xposed you can remap your Volume button to act as power button on long press and many more tweaks which will insure you against a faulty power button !

And one more thing there is no noob in a community ! Everyone begins from somewhere !
Today i bailed you , tomorrow you may bail me out ! So keep learning and keep sharing !

My lg e970 is hard bricked and i need adb dump/backup to revive that . if someone can provide that it will be of great help . the procedure to create adb backup is mentioned below. i hope some noble soul will help me https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

step 1: root your device.
step 2: go to setting > about > software info > build info > tap 5-6 times until message getting to enable developer mode.
step 3: go to setting > developer option > usb debugging >Turn ON
step 4: open your PC and run adb t from cmd.exe
step 5: run this command then check your mobile screen for grant su permission.

adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/Alive_Dump.bin bs=1024 count=1048576

step 6: AFTER THAT create 1GB dump in your phone internal main storage.
find name “Alive_Dump.bin”

note : command are case sensitive so try to direct copy paste better for no error.
