I’m using a side by side Videocon Refrigerator from last 10 years. From last night it’s not turning on, technician from one of the service center visited and checked the refrigerator power cycle, fuse etc. he suggested that the problem is with PCB and only company can change/repair it because these PCB are not available in the Market. The main problem is with the Videocon Company has merged with Electrolux and the services for this refrigerator is not available.

From which company should I contact? Electrolux is not taking an ownership for the repair.

Is Urban Clab can help with services or changing the original parts?

Technician said the PCB is faulty and need to be change. He said this company PCB is not available anywhere in the market so it will get repaired at the cost of 2.5k but we want a new PCB instead of a repaired one.

How to get an original PCB for this refrigerator?

I suggest to get a second opinion from a local technician.

Is the refrigerator inverter type? Possiible to get me the model number?

If inverter type, the repair work will be little messy, and usually most technicians stay away from this. Basically they are not confident or not aware what to touch on the board.

If non-inverter, then repair should be straight forward. Moreover, the repair shouldn’t cost you 2.5k. Something is amiss here.

One of my relative got their refrigerator (inverter variant) PCB replaced. It is out of warranty, and the company (LG) tech replaced the board at 2.2k about 2 years back. It is a double door refrigerator

There is no pcb in non-inv refrigerators. Most likely it’s timer unit needs replacing. Get hold of a local technician he will do it for you.
