This seems a really widespread issue in Samsung mid-rangers. In case of Xiaomi of course even the flagships aren't immune. One fellow using multiple Xiaomi devices records a video of the built-in hardware test prior to flashing any MIUI update besides the entire update process as a whole in case the update bricks the device.

Need help with filing a case in Consumer court against Samsung

Read on Samsung forum many users having exactly same issue. Raised a complaint with Samsung CEO desk. They asked me to submit phone to service center. After 2 days they call me saying that the motherboard is damaged and I need to go for paid repairs. I asked them reason for the motherboard failure and they are not able to answer that.
I denied paying so after a day they again call me saying they can offer 25% discount.
My concern is that if an update is causing this issue then even if the product is out of warranty, they should provide free repairs.
I'm planning to pursue this case in consumer forum.
Any suggestions?

Once I needed to replace Charging port of Samsung Galaxy i5500. They told me, they can only replace motherboard and it will cost 60-70% of cost of mobile!!
Who changes motherboard for repairing Charging port?
After using 1 more failed device Galaxy S Duos, which could not even get incoming call properly, I HAVE STRICTLY DECIDED TO NEVER GO FOR SAMSUNG, no matter how appealing the specifications are. They always do cost cutting here and there.

Their counter argument is that each case is diffrent. I am like ok. Give me everything on mail and i'll pursue the matter further is consumer court.
They are yet to send me a mail. Phone is still at the service center.
Anyone has experience in filing a case in consumer court before?
Whatever is inforums and available publicly. Can you prove it in consumer court is important. If yes, you can surely file
Similar kind of thing happened to me, they offered free charger with F23 and I had ordered them. Then they cancelled saying Samsung had authority to remove any offer anytime and they forced me to purchase separately. mailed to their CEO's desk and followed up closely but got bullshit reply. They've just keep on ignoring the customer grievances, decided to avoid them completely.

The official cost is 250.they can charge anything but ask for bill.they will keep on saying that it will be waste, tell them to f off.check on internet downgrading videos in samsung phones so that you can have an idea about the process.do record the same. @getready and @LIMBO paji may help to get tools to downgrade at home.

If u have told them about consumer court then be assured that your mobo will go bad, thanks to them.

Sometimes even a downgrade won't solve the issue. 🥺😭😭😭

Regarding samsung their service centers are theives go to local shops and get it downgraded (you can do it yourselves also but if you haven't done it before or no technical experince you may end up bricking your phone. the process is unlocking bootloader , installing twrp and flashing downgraded version (if it doesn't work flash any random custom rom first then it will surely work) . odin also works in samsung case but it won't allow downgrading it will allow flashing downgraded version if already installed version is some custom rom).
vkrmjeet wrote:Let me try that. Ive installed custom roms on my Poco .
Unless a device is from motorola i never update my phone& after 3 years of no updates my phone is working flawlessly. these xiaomi , realme etc they give advs/bugs in the updates i never suggest anyone to update phones from these companies unless the current os version is buggy.

Meanwhile today
My Brother has Samsung M30 (Camera Not Opening, After Update) Shown to the Service centre, the idiot guy told me to change the motherboard, I told him everything is working perfect apart from the camera, also it has not any physical damage to camera sensor it's just that Samsung Software has issues that it's not allowing to Open Camera. Local Guy fixed that issue temporarily but he also said, I have nearbout 25 phones and the Samsung service centre is telling all people to change the motherboard even in small cases.
My Dad has Samsung A50s (Motherboard failure after Update)Phone is stuck in the bootloader, said the same thing from Samsung to change the motherboard. It was changed because the phone was in warranty. but, if the phone changed then I didn't see the IMEI Changed, seems they duped our trust.
My Sister has Samsung A50 (The phone was not charging after the Update), So the same Samsung center told us to change the motherboard, that's why I told everyone to use SAMSUNG Phones.
DONT UPDATE YOUR PHONE, UNLESS ITS iPhone, In Android Every Makes is Pathetic ,they are launching new phones every week ,50Phones Samsung,53 realme and 27 Redmi and 17 Oppo and 16 Vivo so all these makers launched these phones in Last year
I am fully supporting you bro😘
As per article mostly Exnoys based chipset are facing Motherboard issues.
Xiaomi at least extended the warranty of the most affected Poco X3 Pro past the default duration. However reportedly mobos are no longer available for replacement and they are offering the inferior Redmi Note 10 Pro instead.

Maybe the charging port is integrated onto the motherboard itself and not on a separate daughter board. Bad design if that's the case and even if it were possible to de-solder or something service center folks will never do so. Even microUSB port is rated for 5k insertion cycles and Type-C for double that!

Do you still have the device? If it's just a soft brick due to a faulty update, if the device can enter fastboot mode it might be possible to revive it as unlocking the bootloader is super easy requiring just a couple of commands. Afterwards flash a custom recovery and choose from a multitude a of excellent custom ROMs.
Edit: It seems it's a fairly widespread issue and probably hardware related.

Some Samsung phones like Samsung m20, 21,m30,30s,A50,A51 has manufacturing flaws. CPU & RAM joints with PCB pads are poorly soldered. Some balls of CPU & RAM lose the connection with the PCB pads & hence your phone restarts, hang on logo or random restarts or sometimes even dead. Exynos CPU heat a lot during OTA update, due to excess heat CPU balls gets damaged. To fix this problem, CPU & RAM needs to be recalled (resoldering)I myself have fixed dozen of Samsung phones M & A series which has the same CPU & ram used. Infact one m21 has came for fix which has the same bimari restating. Samsung is such a shameless brand who is still using the same chipset & manufacturing design so that phone die & users buy a new Samsung phone again. Other brands has already changed this type of manufacturing design. We call it double decker CPU. Ram is soldered on CPU.
Any user who is burned by Samsung's incompetence is more likely to steer well clear of the brand's future offerings! For many users seemingly it's a case of "once bitten, always shy".
LIMBO wrote:Bro its not about always updates causing phones to restarts. Actually wrong, unoptimized updates makes the CPU overheat. Today's big brands like Samsung, MI realme vivo oppo etc are using some kind of glue under the CPU soldered balls & sealed the all boundaries of CPU so that water does not enter inside CPU pads also make difficult for technicians to fix the phone by resoldering. I don't want to go more in technicality. It just glue that prevents the heat under CPU to go outside & hence it exerts more pressure which end up damaging CPU soldered joints with motherboard. This seems a really widespread issue in Samsung mid-rangers.
