I am a frequent traveller. I am looking for a good cashback/discount credit card for Train Booking. And also other ways through which I can save some bucks.

Use Smartbuy. No agent charges of 40.
5% payzapp cashback and card cashback for wallet load (2.5+2/5 for au lit, 2.5 for Snapdeal, 3.75 for eterna, 1-2.5 for idfc) minus 1.8% card fee.
Or DCB/inifinia for 3x points.
Otherwise I don't see any good offers for train. Pretty much all offers are eaten up by agent charges and card charges.

It's one time offer for new users.
1. For frequent train bookings, there is nothing better than the HDFC IRCTC RuPay Credit card. You can get effectively 10% cashback if you use HDFC's SmartBuy portal even if you yourself are not one of the passengers.
2. Next best is HDFC Infinia or DCB which give 3x reward points for train booking via SmartBuy which is basically 10% cashback if you consider 1 RP = 1 Rs which is the ratio you get when redeeming for flights/hotels via SmartBuy.
3. Any other HDFC Credit Card via SmartBuy will get you 5% cashback.Note that SmartBuy is not available for the first 15 mins of the booking window opening. So, trying to book a train ticket exactly 4 months from today at 8 am in the morning or Tatkal at 10 am is not possible. You will have to wait 15 mins.
