Need Help with Water Softener System for Home

Guys we have terrible hard water here. There is tons of scaling junk everywhere around taps, in bathrooms and needs to be cleaned twice or even thrice a month.

If your hands or feet are wet and u walk around my home, then there will be white spots wherever you have passed through. My thick hair has been reduced and my skin also is getting issues nowadays. Its been 3 years living with this horrible bore water.

So I am asking for any recommendations or helpful tips for this issue. Is a softener system worth it? I don’t want a RO system for the entire home. That would be way too costly. What is useful for a 3-4 person home and how much would it cost and what’s the maintenance cost like?

Similar PPM of water, probably the number is similar across Bangalore. But the thing is i don’t observe any scaling on floor after walking around with wet legs or mopped floor. Even I don’t observe that on the washed utensils. I earlier observed some spots on washed utensils, but that’s due to the way home ministry organizes the done dishes.

Even in bathrooms, the deposits aren’t that huge. The accessories/tiles look good for 2-3 months atleast.

I suspect the existing deposits in your bathroom are huge, and you are carrying the same in your home when you walk. How about some deep cleaning of your bathroom and see the result?

Well in Delhi around 10 yrs back we also used to face same problem Water Hardness 450ppm (govt. water pipe line was not there in our colony), so we used unbranded RO system cost about INR 5000/- (brought from lajpat Rai market, Near red fort, Old Delhi) the candles used in RO (Sediment Filter, Carbon Filter, Membrane etc.) cost around INR 100/- per filter replaced during service, and the hardness reduced to 120 ppm. You can search various sites which provides unbranded RO filters which are quite cheep and effective they can also be deliver at your location….

Size is small so usage will be limited to drinking, kitchen and bathing purpose enough for 03 to 04 members.
