Greetings

I am in search of device which can be reliable and accurate to record video and audio.

Saw bunch of Amazon and local items but they seems to be just for namesake.

Any pointers links suggestions are highly appreciated.

Mobile isn't helpful since it will be obvious. If only you can make it somewhat invisible that can be considered.

I would say mostly due to small market size. Also, it's kind of borderline illegal/unethical. We have reputable and decent action-cams, dash-cams, body-cams, but no spy/hidden cam as even companies might be hesitant due to it's shady use.

I think law isn't forthcoming to this.

Two-party consent means all parties have to be informed that the call is being recorded, and the party recording the conversation must obtain prior consent from the other party. However, the consent may be given actively or passively.

IPC 354 (c) voyeurisim can be invoked https://blog.ipleaders.in/someone-records-video...

Even government actively banned it seems https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/karnatak...

The issue with all such spy camera's is that it's all basically the same internal stuff which is a cheap lens+chip from China. There's no branded or reputable ones, so it's mostly a hit and trial to get one. Can only suggest to order a few different ones online, and test yourself and return the non-functional ones. Also, checking it out directly in offline stores might help you to set the right expectations, since more or less all will be same. They don't have stabilization in any way so good only if stationary video recording, and not like while running and all. Also, these devices are primarily meant to be used occasionally only, they won't last long if used on continuous daily basis.

Under usual circumstances recording from spy camera is violation of law but it depends on court to decide its validity so for example if someone record a govt official in office asking for bribe via a hidden camera then court won't rule it out saying it was recorded in violation of privacy rule though in worst case the person who recorded the video may also get some fine while the recording can be used against the officer.

There's innovation. Israel has the top ones in spying and keeping eye/leash on US and EU govt officials and even sell some of their low cost hunks to countries like India and Morocco.
