Need Reviews on BLDC Fans

As the Title says i need reviews on BLDC Fans. Though i have read many reviews on Amazon, Flipkart etc most are confusing!
I am a bit confused because:
1. It’s a bit expensive as compared to regular fans
2. Since it’s BLDC Local mechanics may not know how to repair it (If it needs repairs after warranty period) so anyone has any experience with repairs by local mechanics?
3. How is the Air Flow/Circulation? Many reviews point that Air Circulation is an issue and sometimes it gets slow automatically.
Any other point i may have missed?

Using it for 2 years, no problem, but points to be noted give direct connection and earth is must, Electrician will say  not needed but

stay close and make sure earthing is done, never use normal regulator, from switch the current must be direct to fan.

Air output is 70% of normal fan

Using Atomberg gorilla fans since 3/4 yr without earthing no issues. Bill is nearly 1/3 less also running fan on lower speed consumes very less electricity.
Haven’t faced any issue with fan speed or air circulation as I don’t need fan running at full speed.
Only issue is fan blades attracts too much of dust and hence regular cleaning is needed, consider it as free air purifier stuck_out_tongue

1. Yes it is a bit expensive but it’ll save your electricity of 35-50% so by 2nd year you ll recover the whole amount paid for the fan.
2. local repair is an issue but the company provides 3year warranty. All company provides service in metro cities so it shouldn’t be an issue.
3. Air Flow/Circulation depends on the shape of the blade. This is nothing to do with the motor.

Few things:

  • Local electricians can’t fix them as it involves complex electronics, the motor(spinning one) 99.9% doesn’t spoil, its the electronics that sits behind that gets damaged in some situations. I work in this technology, making the hardware, developing the firmware for the micro-controller inside to spin the motor as per the requirement. It some times gets very tricky to debug the hardware/software. But few designs(chinese) in the market are based on ASIC chip where if they get damaged, the possibility of repair is zero.
  • From what I dealt with customer requirements, they never compromise on the air delivery and the speed at which it has to run. But the air delivery can change based on the fan-rod that you use. If you go against the recommended rod length and reduce the length, the effective air delivery will be reduced. It all depends on what customer specifies when the design is started.

It is like inverter air conditioners or inverter washing machine, where they work as long as they don’t encounter any unwanted conditions, otherwise they are almost similar in terms of the behind-the-screen technology

I am using gorilla fans from more than 1 year.. I have not encountered any issue till now. The fans seem maintenance-free. My other fans (Bajaj, Luminous) have suffered some issues within 3 years.. Power saving is real deal not just for electricity billing, but also for inverter usage(my area has frequent power cuts). In terms of speed, I have found it to be superior than the 2500 bucks priced luminous fan in the next room. Also, in terms of sound, it feels less irritating compared to conventional fans. Remote control is another bonus. I’d recommend these bldc fans without doubt and would also love more competition and interest from other brands.. (As far as I know, Orient electric aeroslim smart fans also have bldc motor and that fan is pretty expensive)

Brought orient one from flipkart 2 days back. Already installed. Only the remote sensor is a problem which is orient fan flaw not in jupitor or gorilla. Air flow is very good in fact better than normal one imo.
I am very satisfied overall.
