Hi, I need suggestions for a 5TB  External Portable Hard Disk Drive!

Please Tag Dimers who are experts in this or comment down your Opinions.

I have Researched and found that 2 Brands are best SEAGATE & WD (Western Digital), and Toshiba (Good, But not available in 5TB)

1.  Seagate One Touch with Password Protection for Windows & Mac with 3 years Data Recovery Services - Portable 5 TB External Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Flipkart and Amazon

2. Western Digital WD 5TB My Passport Portable Hard Disk Drive, USB 3.0 with Automatic Backup, 256 Bit AES Hardware Encryption, Password Protection, Compatible with Windows and Mac, External HDD- Flipkart and Amazon

3.  Seagate Expansion for Windows and Mac with 3 years of Data Recovery Services – Portable 5 TB External Hard Disk Drive (HDD) - Flipkart and Amazon

I have sorted a few products and now please help me to buy the best one! Input your views like Durability, Service Center, Features and any Tip or Suggestions!

Also, Tell me Which Online Website is reliable for Purchasing HDD other than Flipkart and Amazon?

Seagate has 1 benefit that matters a lot to me.

Seagate hard disk are normal 2.5 inch hard disk connected using Sata to usb adapter internally, which is useful if you outside case gets damaged or usb port part gets damaged. You can just change the case or connect the hard disk to a laptop or PC using sata cable and get the data.

WD has soldered usb port directly with hard disk motherboard, so if the port breaks then the whole hard disk is useless.

There are only 3 hdd manufacturers in the world currently: Seagate, WD & Toshiba. All other brands use hdd from one of these three. As mentioned already, WD portable HDDs have usb port soldered to hdd so if anything happens to port/usb adapter chip the hdd will become useless even if it is fine unlike seagate where one can disassemble the exterior casing & use the internal hdd in another usb enclosure/pc internal sata port.

Also, 5TB hdd run hot so not recommended for usage unless room is properly cooled else you will see 50C+ temp easily without even doing anything.

Seagate and WD both are really good, make sure you have a durable HDD case. I purchased WD 5TB HDD at 6.7k last year and WD 4 TB in 2017, also using a Seagate 1TB HDD since 2012

Right click on image & open in new tab & if still low resolution then change "medium" in url in browser address bar to "original" & reload the tab.
