Want to buy a new scooter
I don’t have much idea.
It would be used by all family members. So not looking for muscular design or something like that
Did a bit research on electric scooters.
If electric need speed around 45kmph and range around 80+.
Which would be better electric or petrol ones.
Budget: 70-80k .Max would be around 90k.
Usage : Mostly daily commute within city only.
Location:Mumbai
Can wait for one more month.

Electric Vehicles= High maintenance and limited range.
Conventional vehicles = Low maintenance and good mileage.
So the choice is completely yours.

First and foremost decide whether you really need a new scooty?
If the ans is yes, you may go for Jupiter/Dio (Good stability, better features, good mileage and the downside i feel is that the pickup is comparatively not that great but can be ignored)
If your ans is no, then OLX karo bhai (you will have multiple options with great variety too).
Also, are you from central suburbs? i was just asking since these showroom fellas sometimes have different offers in different cities.

Hope this helps.

Have you used any electric vehicle vs petrol one to compare the maintenance.? I have electric vehicle 2 years now. Spent Zero in maintenance, whereas there are many things to do with petrol one. So you are wrong on this part.
@MrDimer Go with electric. Okinawa ridge+, okinawa praise pro, or hero models or Ampere one. You can even go with bajaj chetak

Ather has high maintenance charges bro. They are sucking blood of customers and government subsidies.

And the real cost of electric scooter will be known once battery needs to be replaced. Not until then. Ather is quoting their battery pack to be above 60k without yet replacing any battery while the cost which goes into making them is less than 30k.

Yes that is why I changed my mind from ather to okinawa. I happy with my decision. 15~20₹/ charge. 140 range in bangalore traffic with eco mode. Not spent any thing in maintenance apart from cleaning tools, brake oil and seat cover. Only lacking is no boot space. Works like more of a bike with front space that can fit a cylinder and 3 water cans easily.
Okinawa ridge+ and other models have boot space, even hero, Ampere and bajaj provide.

Not replaced yet so can’t say actual price. But dealer said 40-50k. But local battery makers can make custom battery pack at much less 25-30 with same capacity and I will go with them once I will require replacement.

There is an Okinawa showroom in my city. But will it look good even for ladies?
I would be used by me and my parents.
Looking at pics I felt it would suit only for men.
Bajaj Chetak is out of my budget.
And what is Fame 2 subsidy and how to get it?

Dealer will tell the on road price after subsidy deduction only. You need not to claim separately.

@Alexios how long you have been using, what is your feedback. I hear bad battery backup and the range they quote is not realistic per charge. Please comment about charging time.

Well, I have seen CNG Scooters (Honda Activa) in Delhi , It has strong engine good body and mileage is excellent, personally will chose CNG scooter over electric as it has more CC capacity for good pickup…..

Govt. has also approved it and also comes company fitted…

Everything already told in my comment above, seems you did not read. No bad battery backup and charging time is 5 hours from 0 to full.
