Need suggestions : Flipkart laptop Return or replacement

Hi All,

I bought lenovo laptop from flipkart which is currently selling at 43K, I bought for 36.5K on offer.

Now issues is, when i tried to register the product at Lenovo brand website, warranty showed only for 6 months, and showing as warranty already started from Dec 2018.
This can happen only in 2 cases, 1. Seller itself might have register the product while purchasing in bulk 2. This might be a resell product after repacking with bard. Just a note product manufacturing date is also Dec 2018.
Other issue is, the invoice provided to me has wrong serial number.
So I connected with flipkart (through chat, call, twitter ), I was getting only one answer for whole one week, “We are looking into it and will get back to you soon”.

Finally, I raised a return request today, stating above two issues.

So, I need your suggestion with respect to below question
1. I accepted replacement of product, so will I get new product or I will get old return product.
2. Should I go for refund instead, But in this case,I will get 36.5K, but this product is now selling at 43K. So If have to purchase with new order, I have to pay extra and will loose the discount amount.
3. This laptop was delivered with DOS, but I have install my own WIN10 and have activated through OME key. So Will flipkart accept this return with WIN10 and also I will be loosing my key as I will not be able to use it again.

Can you please help anyone who have already had such return experience?

Did u try actually applying for return?
As per my experience I don’t think Flopkart will accept the return
Replacement has minute chances maybe

This warranty issue is not big, happened with me and it was updated once i contacted lenovo customer care. They told me to send the invoice of purchase and it was updated in 2 days. Try contacting them to provide correct serial no invoice

Simple thing, send your invoice details to lenovo with your laptop details, they will fix it, the warranty mismatch is just an error from the manufacturer side as sometimes they will give some random warranty

Get a return if you can. Buy from Amazon in prime day sale.
But FK being what it is, it will NEVER accept return. They intentionally print wrong serial number on invoice when something is fishy. This is their modus operandi. Otherwise all boxes have printed labels pasted by manufacturers. So serial numbers are not written manually. All this automated and done by barcode scanners. Labels are scanned by multiple vendors so there is no chance of wrong number.
Believe it or not, your laptop will develop some hardware issue soon

Yes, when I contacted Lenovo care they informed me same. The question is why I need to do this, this should have been taken care by flipkart of seller (RetialNet/Flipkart). I know its hardly 5 min task. But should have been taken care by seller. Now question is about wrong serial no on invoice. For which I am following from last one week, but not yet corrected. So raised a return request, the CC guy given me option for replacement for which i agreed.

Warranty? Don’t worry for warranty you laptop will work fine.

If you return you loose everything from Original Key and discount.

Either extebd warranty. It will be goid option.

The key (if original) gets linked to your account (MS) and it works on multiple computers (Only 1 PC at a time)
So de-link the key (Google on how-to) and use it on other laptops [This step may not be required, direct sign in should do)

Also installing dos is easy, i suggest u to do it before returning it
But in my experience, the support team can fix the warranty issue (Did it with HP once in the past) if FK fixes the serial number on the invoice

Hi all,

Update:

As soon I raised return request, got multiple calls from different department of flipkart.
So there was additional S at the beginning of actual serial no. So they given me on email that this addition S is as a part of lenovo’s standard. Also my warranty is re generated for 1 year.
I wonder why all this not happened from last 1 week. Were they waiting me to rais return request?

Anyways, lesson learned, always check serial number. Do product registration as soos as you get product in hand. Check warranty.

Do you mean that the only difference n serial number was the “S”.

Warranty date mismatch is a common issue in many Lenovo laptops on Flipkart. You would find many if you just go through the q&a or the reviews.

I got a MacBook Air 2020 from Flipkart on the 23rd of June 2020 I got an issue with the backlit of the keyboard so I went to the nearest Apple Service centre. When I gave them my serial no of MacBook they said your product is not registered on Apple so it won’t b covered under warranty. Then I contacted Apple Care on their toll-free number. I sent them my Flipkart invoice then Apple replied that I asked your seller to provide an invoice where serial no. should be printed. Then I contacted Flipkart for an invoice with serial no/IMEI. They asked me for a week. But even after 2 weeks, they couldn’t provide me with the requested Invoice. After 15 days Flipkart backed team contacted me and offered me to replace the Macbook or get a refund. I opted for a refund.
After this, they continuously shifting the deadline for pickup of the MacBook.On the 4th of July, they raised the pickup request and today 21st of July as I am writing this article it hasn’t been picked up.
