Plastic coolers suck air from room & give us the same humid air while metal coolers suck air from outside & give us fresh cool air.
Issue with metal coolers need maintenance like painting body every year to save it from getting rush, changing cooling pads. Plastic coolers works well in dry condition when humidity level is minimal otherwise plastic is same like table fan. Company charge premium for body looks only.

and why plastic ones can not suck air from outside if they are kept outside?
