Need suggestions regarding symphony and bajaj air cooler.

Bajaj product nowadays not built good compared to symphony and kenstar.

Used Symphony air cooler. For us it worked for 11 years with no major issues. Now it’s water pumping motor is still intact but it’s fan windings needs to be changed, hence lying aside.

Bro I have no pblm if it’s performance is better than new models.

There is no offer for off-season after covid started. So wihy waste space and money for 6 months? bank will give you some interest or use it for something else.

Understand the internal workings.

There are 2 types. Paper honeycomb and grass.

Grass gives more cooling and replacement panels easily available and cheap. While big brands use paper honeycomb.

Shop owners will vouch for the local brands because they are not just cheap but better cooling.

So choice is ugly with performance or beautiful gizzmo showpiece.

No idea about model number. It’s some old sumo model. Symphony and Kenstar coolers are reliable.

have not seen the one you’ve narrowed down upon, but this one or maybe similar one in 22-25L capacity https://www.amazon.in/Symphony-Diet-12-Litre-Co... was there with a close family member.
It is still there but not used as often, except in one or two rooms where AC is not feasible.

Just between the two options you’ve narrowed down upon, depending upon sound profile, dB level and whether franchisee in area/locality is giving reliable, timely service
we would have opted for the Symphony, over the Bajaj Electricals one.

I am not sure of the price they bought it at (offline), but for their use (in verandah and) in the drawing room (when guests are there) iy served the purpose.
But the sleek one, i don’t know if it was under 22L, could not hold too much water to go on and on for two hours without refill.
In dry, 38°+ type of heat.

Our own families have had Symphony water coolers on and off since 27-28 years.
The local made ones or ones with metal outer bodies (even if powder coating to give finish) i personally would totally avoid if there are kids or pets around.
[something to do with deep seated childhood trauma😁. Once had put hand through the front (no proper grill/ certainly not something that could stop me) and am thankful and happy that my fingers are still with me.
and those days, it was common to hear stories of ‘fridge mein current aa raha hai’ or such metal cages pulling power/leakages / poor earthing towards the user operated areas.
I myself once/twice had ‘incidents’ as a pre-teenager. but those were mostly my own foolishness or not wearing slippers/ standing on a rubber mat].

Yes, our suggestions might create a bias or we ourselves might have missed some point or be unaware of advances in technology.

Long back (6-7 years) had seen a pretty silent (oscillating) slim tower type unit in some commercial establishment, but cannot remember if i checked the name.

Maybe it was only a fan, but that day it felt cool in the room.

Not to confuse you, but all i meant was;
A] our trust is more on someone or something that gave us reliability and is tried and tested.
[Bajaj, somehow were okay in mixer grinder type kitchen appliances but then mainly became a lighting or basic appliances (fans, tubelights) company].

B] water coolers, in this budget or price point positioning, might be more or less similar.
[someone above even shot down the idea of these ‘honeycomb’ mesh and said that they prefer old style grass/reeds. even though it is a fact that they rot and may not ‘hold’ as much moisture as machined celluloid ones.]

C] and from personal experience or finickiness only i mentioned the sound versus efficiency issue.
[that if mercury hits 38° (where you live/ will use) or if keeping the blower at high speed and within 7-8 feet of where people sit (sofa or verandah), then it might drown conversation with its own humming.
Or loose water such that one has to refill every 2-3 hours.]
