Guys , i want to purchase an AC for my hall having dimensions 21 × 12 × 10 ft.
I calculated and find that 2.5 ton would be required for that .
but i also saw on youtube that some guys used 1.5 ton instead of 2 ton or 2.5 ton i.e less tonnage for their large room and it works .
Is that ok ?

Iam from north region and summers are extreme here in june july
Also suggest some Ac models guys as i checked some deals and found a samsung and a voltas one with price of 30 k around
Shall i go for 3 star / 5 star . Do they really make much difference

I am thinking to purchase soon as the price might be low online and summers are going to start soon

Thanks

Brother tonnage also depends upon the floor on which you are using the ac. For example if you are using the ac on the ground floor and you have another floor constructed then you will need less tonnage. Looking at your room size the minimum which you will require is 2 ton if your hall doesn’t get direct sunlight.
Last year bought whirlpool ac 1.5 ton for 27k, quite satisfied with it as it contains copper condenser with 3 star rating. 3,5 star only matter when you want to run it for a very long hours in a day. If you want to use it for 7-8 hours on a daily basis then it is advisable to gor 3 star as the 5 star cost is very high and which will take around 5-6 year to recover that extra cost if you use the ac for these given hours.
Rest samsung and voltas have given some new models which are really good.
