I applied for an HSBC Credit Card nearly 10 years ago from an agent at a mall. I had an account with HSBC. Card was issued. No income documents were needed. I did not give anything. I only filled the application form at the table. Nothing else. Not even my ID or Address Proof. I guess they took it all from my Customer ID with them. Which is what I like about them, they do not want unnecessary steps in the process, they will try and go for maximum efficiency for themselves and their customer.

10 year ago maximum card were issued with just kyc or without it my uncle and dad just have many cards got without pancard number too or without any documents before 10-15 years,

Nowadays rules are too strict as you say you got HSBC credit card with just bank account basis

I have a year old HSBC savings account and they are not taking my application stating you are self employed even though in their website it’s mentioned if you have savings account with us you can apply for credit card.
