if budget is not a constraint and you live in a coastal belt, you can go for the latest atmospheric water purifiers. they generate pure water out of air.

Go to local ro shop. Depending on your locality water, membrane may change. Give him this Specifications:
1. CSM membrane
2. Lexpure or hi-tech or any other reputed brand inline filters.
3. 100gpd pump
4. Mineral cartridge.

Ask him to prepare a ro filter based on above specifications. You can select any kind of ro filter body.
If your locality water is not hard, rather dirty, then instead of CSM membrane, use NF membranes. Search NF membrane on amazon.in

That’s it. You will save considerable amount.

the ones i saw in some science show or as proof of concept, would not produce enough if requirement is for a large family or small business.

and “humid” air.

what are the average brwak even timelines of such devices.
(i assume, the upfront costs might be prohibitively high for layman).

my choice as well.

in most homes, with these storage type units
i have often noticed or heard the users mention that debris or even small creatures like ants can settle in the water chamber or other components.

if using storage type machines, how has your experience been Papa ji?

Depends if the storage chamber is not sealed properly. Usually it may have a rubber gasket.

haven’t heard any such incident but for longer life of main filter, get a sediment filter.

thanks🙂 will keep that in mind.

it’s just that… knowing that red ants (small ones) can find cool resting/hiding places there, psyched me out a bit.

Im using hindware calisto uv + uf, got for 6k during a sale on fk. It often comes at 7k.
I opened it last month to change membrane, but had to put it back since the membrane housing was a sealed n proprietary one. Its possible to open it though.

This doesn’t have a locking system like Unilever marvella ro.
They lockout after few days, you or the service engineer should open it and press the button in order to operate again. But sure thing you need to observe once on how to open these.
Changing ro membrane on Unilever marvella is easy. Total expenditure is very less if you are doing it yourself.

We used it really well for about 5 years and now it’s our back up ro. Its motor head failed and hence had to buy another.. For many reasons.

Buy a branded one (plastic quality will be better ) with uv (lamps stop working after a while ), if you can change membranes yourself, that’s a great thing.

Happens even if it’s a sealed unit. It’s our responsibility to open n clean once a while. At least every 6 mths

Thats true for most of Europe, Canada and US. Because their govt does the purification for them and supplies proper drinking water.

Same thing was here also some 20 years ago. Less population and abundance of water sources made it possible. In my locality water jar from a particular well is in demand. Its 20 km away in a village, it is supplied unfiltered and tastes great

OP posted the requirement like asking recommendation for a TV without giving specifics.

Now people looking to buy one would get the terminology but not the context.

So other than OP who are reading this thread and looking for a solution. These are the QA you should tell the WP sales man.

1) tell them the part of city you live.. (helps gauge age of pipes old places because there mixing of sewage and drinking water accidents happens)
2) whether municipal water.
3) insufficient municipal water with water tanker topups.
4) well water or not.

Zero customer support. You will be at the mercy of their local service franchise. Plus prices are way too much. Same goes for Kent but their customer support is good.

our experience in over twenty years is diagonally opposite of what billubakra mentions.

in-fact fake non-brands who rely on politicians/stars to raise the issue of tax breaks for them in the parliament are the ones to avoid.

brands that have been around for donkey years… also have a large aftermarket (thirdparty/ OEM) service and spares support.

and in most Tier2 towns also … in most areas they have enough franchise/ service partners that if one does not find one of the Authorised Service Centre to be up to the mark or responsive.
tgen one can chooae to go with another A.S.C. for the AMC or 3 yearly or 2 yearly contracts.

complaints or rewuests logged via the company/ call centre also have a proper follow-up by the brand.

no problem if “duniya ka sabse shuddh pani” Malini has to pimp her masters in the parliament.. but SUCH lobbying/bribing and fake brand value makes the service and spares of Kent costlier.
half ofour relatives who have Kent have either had tge units faing (faults developed) soon or complained of getting ripped off by direct company technicians too.

anyway, it’s not like i have any affiliation with any brand.
in-fact LivPure network in our area and even there H.O. were really responsive for some other profuct line, but i am not convinced about their R.O. + UV water filtratuon systems till everything is indigenised.
(LivPure does make most of the stuff for most of its product lines in Punjab or North)

To each its own. I and many of many friends have had terrible experience with eureka forbes. And no I am not using that kent either. Just a local one made as per my specifications like a user mentioned above.

Atleast in my state no local oem is that powerful.

In eureka forbes if you live in abc locality then the service centre of xyz locality won’t provide you any service. They don’t interfere in areas which belongs to others.

complaints or rewuests logged via the company/ call centre also have a proper follow-up by the brand.
Good if yours was followed up.
