Since my mobile has NFC, is it possible to use it as a substitute for physical cards, like a Bengaluru metro card or a company access card?

legally not possible
company access card is not possible without "hacking your company RFID storage" or "your company allows it using their RFID provider"
BY OTHER MEANS AND METHOD, you can using Flipper zero:) - research your own on this (its blasphemy to talk it i think) - do it at your own risk IT WILL HAVE SERVERE CONSEQUENCES
