Maybe they thought due to delivery restaurant  sales will increase and they will bear some of the 30% charge, but restaurants r not ready to do that so business model failing, in our tier 3 city they launched a year ago and now offering free delivery for every delivery still can't get enough users

Restaurants are openly saying that their prices on Zomato/Swiggy are jacked up to 30% to cover up for Swiggy/Zomato Commission. I stopped ordering from Swiggy /Zomato and now directly order from the restaurants in my area. They typically have free delivery and prices are way less. The only problem is that you need to order from your locality only.

Rule of business once business established it's time to recover all the losses.

What I finally see is, whether at that price it's better to order food online with those inflated prices or visit the restaurant.... Sometimes we have to pay to buy that ease & comfort.

It's fine for one day in month.but regularly order it's so huge prices with reduced quality.

Ordered a 699 cake at 810 from swiggy yesterday and just got to know that the shop is selling the same at 500 offline🤬🤬🤬

Order without any discount: Rs 300
Order with 50% Discount : Rs 280

Some hotels even increasing 50 % of original prices. So what is the future of food delivery model.

Better order in a local restaurant above 500 and free delivery within 2 km. Back to 2010.

Restaurants with 20% offers are down to 10% and those with 50% is down to 40%. Guiltfree offer is down from 60 to 50 with mov of 249 instead of 199.

And obviously some restaurants have also increased the prices.

I remember when I used to order 10rs Mysore masala dosa from top restaurants in uber eats😂. Slowly the prices have increased and discounts have reduced.

Now-a-days, my average order value is going above 150 (price what i pay after all discounts and offers).

Mere yaha to 40% ka difference hai . To sabse best direct restuarant pr jao . Kabhi kabhi emergency hai to ho online lena .

Best is to visit the eatary and have food. Zomato very much shows higher prices of every dish.

Worst part is, now they don't even care about the customer experience. Ordered full plate chicken tandoori from Zomato instead just received portion size only. After raising issue got this reply "As a food aggregator, we always try to deliver the food as efficiently as possible. However, quality and quantity are something that is controlled by the restaurant completely.". When there was clearly option to select quantity how it is not Zomato's responsibility 🤦‍♂️. Later got reply kindly fill the feedback and f*** off.

All the inflated prices and all was there from start and was still finding good discount on restaurant basis.

But now after restaurant specific amd gsy charges.  The membership benefit is like nothing saving
