45%+ GST is not enough
Wrongly marked gift packages are already being charged based on the source. Now they are after gift imports too (Genuine cases).
If “China Imports” itself is the issue, what’s there to scrap the “gift imports” concept entirely? Why not restrict it? No resources to do so? Or they don’t want to make the lazy customs officials do their job effectively?

iam still unable to find out how these customs work ,, even i have seen they applying custom charges on small less valued products and sometimes not applying even on costly items… i mean is there any rules ?
