Now Tata Motors to float VRS plans

Tata Motors is working on a VRS plan for 1,600 employees across locations.
The golden handshake is said to be aimed at trimming headcount in engineering, but rationalisation may happen across the board, including the R&D team.
Plus, senior consultants may not see their contracts getting renewed.
The move comes on the heels of a disappointing September quarter: Tata Motors posted a net loss of ₹1,282 crore and employee cost as a percentage of net sales nearly doubled.
