NVME PCIe SSD on SATA Slot

Last December I brought a Acer Laptop. I was surprised to find it did not had M.2 slot.
Before laptop arrived, I had already ordered and received 8GB Top up RAM and 256GB M.2 SATA SSD
Later I brought Sata Adapter from banggood, which happened to be faulty. Indian Post never delivered another SSD Adapter ordered from Aliexpress. Pre-COVID these adapters were not available in Indian Market (Neither Nehru Place and online). Few sellers are now selling it for 800 to 1000/-
Now I have found PCIe SSD are faster and just slightly higher priced. I want to upgrade to PCIe SSD. Shall I actually use this or it is just fascination of specs?
I have these doubts
- I do not have M.2 slot, so I again need to buy adapter (NVME to SATA which is far more expensive)
- If I use PCIe SSD with Sata adapter, will my speed reduce because of using SATA adapter?
- What happens to my M.2 SSD I brought last year?
Or will you suggest me to buy another M.2 adapter and use my previously brought SSD?

Edited.. M.2 NVME is seriously faster and make hell of a difference in the normal usage even, no clue about pcie, so if there is an adapter to make use of full m.2 Nvme data speeds u should go for it. But make sure it does increase the speed which I doubt an adapter can do for a incapable motherboard.
Whats the point of getting NVME SSD when you’re only going to get SATA speed over SATA connector?
Don’t feel like its worth spending 1k on another adapter either. Just Sell this m.2 SSD over OLX and get a SATA one (2.5")
M.2 is form factor aka it is basically just a size specification. Sata & NVMe are connectivity standards aka M.2 sata ssd is basically a normal 2.5" sata ssd with its external covering removed so performance wise there is no difference between a sata ssd & a m.2 sata ssd. NVMe ssd uses pcie lanes in mother board so it is much faster. NVMe to sata adapter is costlier & you lose the main advantage of NVM ssd that way(aka ability to use pcie lanes).

Sorry yeah I got confused I meant if you can use an adapter for NVME than its worth it.
Bhai, if you don’t have PCI express/M.2 NVMe slot, then it’s not worth to buy an NVMe SSD. Just buy a regular SATA SSD, which ll be a lot cheaper. 🙂🙂🙂
