My friend wants to do MBA in IT , He has an experience of around 8 years in IT field.. now he is choosing LPU (distance) for MBA …
Is this the right way to approach his career or any other University or course he should opt …

Distance MBA does not help much.
Many IT companies have tie up for higher education, that offers better prospect
Please once check with BITS PILANI too
They offer MBA in various fields…WILP degree ( Work Integrated Learning Programmes)
paji distance course se achi job nahi milegi. follow replies mentioned above.
Distance Learning will give part time MBA degree.
There is more value to full time MBA degree when searching for jobs.

I agree. Unless it’s some specific field/company … It’s not going to help.

In India: less than 10 years experience:
For BTech CSE people, there is no value for MS/MBA degrees. There is no promotion reserved for higher degree.
For Non-IT people, it is one of the good way to get IT degree certificate (MS IT/MBA IT/MSc IT).
But, MBA will help you to switch over the career from technical to management.
Distance learning MBA isn’t going to get him promotion. Neither will that add a lot of value to his resume for future. Consultants and companies ask if the MBA is FT or not.
If he still pursues – LPU isn’t a good option. There are better colleges and universities

For CSE BE fresher, will MTech degree from IIT’s give them good post/good package? Is it worth it?
