Online fraud victim ? Dial 1930 immediately & report the crime:

NEW DELHI: If you lose money to cybercrooks, dial 1930 immediately and report the crime. After you furnish the bare details of the financial transaction, a mechanism will be triggered to freeze the siphoned off money wherever it has landed and police action will follow.

The Union ministry of home affairs, with the help of department of telecommunications (DoT), has been allotted this new helpline, which will replace 155260 in a phased manner.

“Online harassment or cyber financial fraud should be immediately reported on 1930 for swift action,” said police commissioner Rakesh Asthana.

“After the digital alert is sounded, a token will be generated and the beneficiary bank, wallet or merchant will be alerted to trace and freeze the defrauded amount. The stopped flow will then be reported back to the platform. In case the money has been transferred to another financial intermediary, the process will keep repeating till the amount is put on hold,” said Asthana.

The victim would be notified through an SMS containing the reference number of his complaint and a link to www.cybercrime....in — the website on which a formal and detailed complaint would be required to be lodged by the victim within 24 hours.

“Once a formal complaint is received on the national cybercrime portal, police proceedings will follow to retrieve and revert the money into the victim’s account and trace the fraudster,” said DCP (Special Cell) KPS Malhotra.

If no formal complaint is received within 24 hours, the frozen funds would be released by the intermediary concerned to be transferred on the instructions of the beneficiary.

Sources said Union home minister Amit Shah had asked for giving top priority to this mechanism that could save victims of cybercrime from the hassle of running around with their complaints and waiting for months to get their money and crooks tracked.

The 1930 helpline is significant because of the time factor. The chances of tracking the siphoned off money and stopping its transfer is the highest in the first few hours. Precious time is lost while lodging complaints by victims at police stations.

“This initiative will help in real-time incident reporting, transmission, escalation, estoppels and resolution with the singular objective to prevent the defrauded money from exiting the financial ecosystem and ending up in the hands of the fraudster, either in hard cash or as goods purchased over e-commerce sites,” said Malhotra.

Cyber Crime Helpline Number: अगर आप साइबर ठगों के शिकार बन गए हैं तो अब इसकी शिकायत दर्ज कराने के लिए आप 1930 हेल्प लाइन नंबर डायल कर सकते हैं. नये साइबर क्राइम हेल्प लाइन नंबर (Helpline Number) को केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय (Home Ministry) द्वारा जारी किया गया है. इस नंबर को डायल (Dial) कर पीड़ित अपने साथ हुए फ्रॉड की शिकायत दर्ज करा सकते हैं. आपके द्वारा वित्तीय लेन-देन का ब्योरा दिए जाने के फौरन बाद, एक तंत्र शुरू हो जाएगा और जहां कहीं भी धन की निकासी की गई है वहां पुलिस फौरन कार्रवाई करेगी.

बता दें कि केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने दूरसंचार विभाग (DoT) की मदद से यह नई हेल्पलाइन अलॉट की है, जो चरणबद्ध तरीके से 155260 की जगह लेगी. दिल्ली पुलिस आयुक्त राकेश अस्थाना ने कहा, " हेल्पलाइन नंबर 1930 पर ऑनलाइन उत्पीड़न या साइबर वित्तीय धोखाधड़ी की सूचना मिलने पर तुरंत कार्रवाई की जाएगी."

कैसे दर्ज करा सकते हैं शिकायत

पुलिस कमिश्नर अस्थान ने पूरी प्रक्रिया के बारे में बताते हुए कहा कि,“डिजिटल अलर्ट बजने के बाद, एक टोकन जनरेट होगा और पीड़ित द्वारा सूचना दिए जाने के बाद पुलिस फौरन लाभार्थी बैंक, वॉलेट या व्यापारी को धोखाधड़ी की सूचना देती है. रुके हुए फ्लो को फिर वापस प्लेटफॉर्म पर रिपोर्ट किया जाएगा. यदि धन किसी अन्य वित्तीय मध्यस्थ को स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया है, तो प्रक्रिया तब तक दोहराई जाएगी जब तक कि राशि रोक दी जाती है. ”

इसके बाद पीड़ित को एसएमएस के जरिए लॉगिन आईडी, रिफरेंस नंबर मिलेगा. जिसका इस्तेमाल 24 घंटे के भीतल नेशनल साइबर क्राइम रिपोर्टिंग पोर्टल  www.cybercrime.gov.in  पर शिकायत दर्ज करानी होगी. इस सुविधा के इस्तेमाल से वित्तिय साइबर धोखाधड़ी के शिकार लोगों की धनराशि रिकवर वापस कराने में मदद मिलेगी.
