Online shopping Awareness - Do this before taking delivery of expensive phones and other electronic items ordered online

Before taking delivery of expensive consumer electronics like phones and other small but expensive electronic items ordered online, please check how your shipping label on the delivery packet looks like.

If it looks torn, taken out and re stuck or tampered, “Do not accept the delivery”.

Looking at just the appearance of outer shipping packet itself does not help. The shipping packets of online marketplaces are easily available to anyone having access to a 3rd party seller account.

At the time of delivery, when you look the outside packing, your delivery packet might looks fresh and intact. You wouldn’t know if your item has been taken out and re-packed during transportation. So check the shipping label to detect signs of tampering during transportation.

This was from my recent experience where the scam call center got hold of my amazon shopping order and targeted me.

https://www.desidime.com/discussions/beware-of-...

I was looking at all the possibilities how my shopping order information was leaked.

One possibility has been posted on my previous thread, but when I analyzed the situation further, I found out this new possibility of re-packing the item can also take place, because my invoice was missing from inside the delivered packet and the item count was also less. also if you look at the image posted on the thread, it looks out of place for the full shipping label to find space and like it has been torn out of the original packet and re-stuck on the re-packing during transportation handling.

Why these e-commerce sites not having “Free Open Checkup”?

Flipkart has this facility of open packet delivery for some orders. I have availed it once when I purchased the laptop. They open the packet in front of you to see the item before you hand them over the delivery OTP.

Amazon doesn’t have this facility as far i know.

For refrigerators anyway, I think the customer would probably notice if only an empty box is being delivered to them.
