I am thinking of opening an account with standard chartered Bank to get a pre approved credit card.
Requesting dimers to share their experiences with standard chartered Bank.
But problem is something else.
Anyone having standard chartered account?

No need to open a bank account and wait for pre-approved offers. Should easily be able to get SC card, apply directly on the website. I applied for SCB DIGISMART card and it was approved within a few days. Just after a month I applied for the ultimate card, it was also approved. I applied as a salaried individual. Also, there is no physical verification. Since my location was unserviceable, I gave my friend's address to receive the card. Doesn't matter whatever is present on your adhar card, they won't ask for any address proof of the current address that you mention in the application.

The card is chargeable, right ?
@nimod I had opened their 25K savings bank account last year; it's fully online process, and delivery address can be any address; branch address will be based on aadhar address though. I opened in the hope of getting a LTF pre-approved CC, but haven't got any LTF offer till now. Getting a pre-approved (at least that's what it says) for smartearn CC, but it's chargeable, so didn't go for it yet.

In how many days did they show you pre approved offer?
Did you face / know any incident of unexpected deductions in savings account?

btw, I would suggest you to take the paid card (smart cc) and negotiate/wait for other ltf offers.

It took around 6+ months for me... No unusual charges or anything like that. I hardly use that account, just keeping the 25K mab, and sometimes use the debit card for some bank specific offer if any. My main motive was to get a ltf somehow, but looks like it's difficult to get now; will try once by contacting cc or maybe will just apply for it and then later ask them to convert to ltf.

Which Variant Account Is Best In Stand Chartered Bank?

Is your salary more than 2 lakhs per month or requirements come down if we already have card with them? Thanks in advance.

I applied for SCB DIGISMART as salaried.
On the basis of this SCB DIGISMART, I applied for SCB ULTIMATE wherein nothing was asked for. It was just an authentication using my existing card.
Uhtnas4444 wrote:You should be able to get Digismart / Smart / Titanium card easily. They don't have high eligibility requirements. If you need the Ultimate card, either your existing SC card needs to have a limit over Rs. 4 Lakh, or ITR of 24L, or you can apply on a C2C basis with any other card having a limit over 6-7L. Some requirements may be waived off depending on your relationship with the bank.

Uhtnas4444 wrote:Yes, SC does give preference to salaried folk with respect to issuing Ultimate. However, some requirements can be waived depending on relationship with the bank. Ultimately, there's some discretion involved.
