PayTM exchange offer fraud. Be careful guys.

Hi guys,

Today I heard something bad about paytm exchange policy. My brother purchased an Oppo F9 under 4000Rs extra exchange value offer. The mobile given for exchange was perfectly fine with screen and body intact… just a few minor dents/scratches on corners of the body like any used mobile. But after taking the mobile for exchange, they have rejected the exchange saying “Switch on failed”!!!

The exchange value won’t be refunded. And they’re very cleverly writing in terms and conditions that original order cannot be cancelled if exchange is rejected! rage

I have asked my brother to take screenshots of the exchange failed false reasons given and post the pics of mobile to facebook and twitter. Let’s see what will come out.

BE CAREFUL ABOUT EXCHANGE DISCOUNTS FROM PAYTM FROM NOW ON.

Edit: It seems paytm has outsourced this exchange process to a third party. And that pickup guy asked for cash for that same mobile and when my brother refused, he updated wrong reason for rejecting exchange.

The mobile was returned today. Looks like a planned strategy by paytm. Now they’re neither responding to messages nor taking calls. Beware of exchanging mobiles in paytm in the lure of exchange offers. Once order placed, it can’t be cancelled if exchange is rejected. You’ll end up shelling huge amounts if exchange is rejected. Will screw them on Facebook and Twitter now.

They dont accept or reject the phone thats getting exchanged at your doorstep? If they are rejecting the exchange then we just cant do anything? The same person who came to pick up old phone does not bring new phone with him?

Nope. The new phone gets delivered first. Only then pick up happens. And once delivered, you can’t cancel the order. Neither can you do anything if exchange gets rejected! And they have sole authority to accept or reject the exchange mobile. If they reject the exchange then all exchange discount becomes invalid. And you can’t cancel the order as well if exchange gets rejected.

If both exchange doesn’t happens at the same then I think buying from Paytm is not a good option.
Atleast FK_AZ offers exchange at the time of delivery and you get option to cancel order if they reject the old phone.

Try reporting via all social media and also provide the links , even we’ll also try to figure what the real reason for this.
Good luck.

Update: Posted to thier twitter all the pics of perfectly working mobile yesterday morning. They said they need more time and still not responded. Gave them the link to this thread as well.

My advice is to stay AWAY from Paytmmall for mobile exchange. Their policy is not customer friendly at all. I’ll beware of making any big value orders from them. rolleyes rage

Update: paytmmall arranged for exchange pickup again and now credited cashback. Course followed: Twitter and desidime. Followed up on twitter regularly. One thing they did clearly wrong was that reason given was that switch on failed and in SMS they mentioned that mismatch in details given, both of which were wrong. Anyhow, now relieved that issue is resolved.

Post the actual pictures of your mobile on Twitter and Facebook and ask for reason for rejecting.
