How can they open your acc without your aadhaar/video kyc, you must have given something to them.

Then you probably clicked on “open bank acc” option by mistake/didn’t notice as their latest app interface is really confusing.

Should I involve RBI ?
That’s the thing, you wouldn’t remember it if you didn’t even realize you clicked it. Also it seems like you will have to close your paytm account too along with bank account.

Not sure if RBI would be able to help you with this as it is probably a system limitation of paytm that once an acc is closed then linked paytm account will also need to be closed.
you can separately close the savings bank account.

I am hoping so
You can write to them telling that if you don’t hear back this time you will file a complaint with the banking ombudsman. I have seen it to work. You can also forward all your communication to the ombudsman as adequate time has passed since you first requested for closure. Anyways, the bank account has no charges, so nothing to worry if it takes time to close.

For virtual debit card there are no charges.
Since you don’t remember opting for bank account then I am assuming that you never opted for physical debit card.

Common practice from long time
Under the pretext of doing Full kyc …kyc executives are opening bank account as well w/o intimating customer (as they get commision per bank account opening). — 90% of the cases.
Or
Op may have selected bank account opening as well by mistake while scheduling kyc.

1st one is true and my kyc was done 3 years back
Looking at this thread…I checked my Paytm..
I also have Paytm bank (don’t know when was it open ).
But it says Account Blocked .I am sure I have never made any transaction on this account..Full KYC was done 2 years back (this days I hardly use Paytm..1s in a while for CC to bank or some payments)
Generate a request through paytm app to close the payments bank account. Payments bank account can be closed while keeping wallet active @guest_999 . If any interest is there in the payments bank account, then they will ask for an alternate bank account cancelled cheque leaf/passbook front page depicting your details (interest transfer is mandatory, otherwise they will not agree to close account) to transfer interest and then will close it.
