Paytm shares have been falling continuously ever since the company made its entry into the stock market. The price of its shares has gone down by 75%!
It has even become the world's worst-performing share after its IPO. Did you buy this share as well? Or is there someone else that you know who did buy Paytm shares/get Paytm IPO?
Or do you have any advice for someone who brought this share or any other stock that may give such a big loss? Let's have a discussion in the comments section.

Entire community was screaming not to buy this stock. Even many experts told retail to stay away from this stock. It was nothing like Reliance power when everyone were asking to subscribe. Even after that if people bought this stock, its on them. Greed.

People generally believe that popular companies are bound to perform well sooner or later and this triggers their greed. Something similar was seen with LIC IPO too where investors initially thought that it would perform well since it's a gov. company.
Though people still think that it would grow in the future

Because the market condition when the IPO was announced and LIC's poor performance, both were big red flags that investors ignored completely.

Yes.. putting up a brave front or a charade.. is a common defence mechanism.
.
Check any of the SpeakAsia, QuestNet, FTX (crypto ponzi exchange,) to even sports teams or political bigwigs... all try to project a larger than life image or a 'we will resurrect' mirage.
But then go turtle (fully bottom up) soon after.

True. Bolte the ki bass chaplusi karne chakkar me fans gaye. Actually literally fanse the. Bank unhe saab ek ek NSDL demat account pakda diya tha without any trading account. Fir unhe Zerodha ko lane me 1-2 months lag gaye the. Bahut gaali padi hai banks ke upar us time lekin.

And that's why people believe in them too. They won't think twice before trusting someone who is famous or has authority in a big company.
"Yeah, that guy is famous, he must be correct." It's just like saying "This guy who I don't even know personally said that his under-performing company is comparable to Tesla. So I would invest all of my earnings in his company, no matter what the market situation is"
These promoters and institutional investors have many ways to recover their money and even if they can't, they may not face problems as severe as many retail investors. Also, they know what's happening within a company too so they would buy/sell their shares accordingly(insider trading). That's why I always check if a company's promoters and institutional investors have whether increased or decreased their investments in a company. This gives me a fair idea of how would that particular company perform in the long run.

Did you buy this share as well? NO
Or is there someone else that you know who did buy Paytm shares/get Paytm IPO? Yes
Or do you have any advice for someone who brought this share or any other stock that may give such a big loss? Sell it off. They have no real business model, sirf user data sell karo and sirf marketing hai
PayTm Mall - Flop
Paytm recharges - commission business, user will use app with most discounts
Paytm CC linked business - Wallet loads, CC to bank transfers etc etc...MDR/Fee business.. initially provided free but user wont continue using it if 2-3% fees are applied..
