Just launched: Now PayTM UPI users can set their UPI id without revealing their mobile numbers. New edit option is provided to choose upi ids with name from the dropdown menu. 😊😊

it's not new, I am using custom name since the beginning of paytm UPI years back.(Even without Paytm Payment bank)
Paytm suddenly saying SIM is not verified for UPI. I did not change my mobile and even did not remove/change my SIM. Then it would try to verify by sending SMS, deduct balance for SMS but will say that SMS has not been received. Seems to be new scam for looting users.
How Paytm will get money by sending SMS from your device to bank for device authentication?

Also we can't manually enter they are providing some mobile or email combination
