You can’t track your device. Only Police can track it.
Do you have insurance?

1 year insurance ended in december yes we have filed an FIR and Blocked The Sim Card

They would be able to use the phone once they change the IMEI.

Take print out of it get it signed by station head.. Then go to the control room give him the paper and imei number he will put on tracking.

After this you will receive message on your alternate number from Delhi police for acknowledgement and assigned officer name, contact number..

When you will contact assigned officer then he will insist you to take down the FIR and suggest you to only file lost and found report. So that he wouldn’t have to work under the pressure bcz of power of FIR.

So this is the story of typical indian citizen who lost his mobile and in all this process he gets tired & had to lose hope.

But in rare cases one gets his mobile back like one of my friend got his mobile after a year.

So best of luck

I feel sad for you bro. You have done all that required. Now only pray and your luck can get the phone back thru a good officer only.

Tracking the thief/ phone is damn easy but the question remains, who’s gonna catch his own kin?

I got my sony xperia after 6 months 4 years back
When i received the call from police that they have traced it i was surprised but it was a nice experience

Track the theif? Well you have already done that as you have gone to the POLICE.

(No) jokes apart- forget about it. Unless you know some high ranking police or private detective who will do the network triangulation for you.

Oh dear sir. Lemme tell you how talented i am-

I lost (got stolen) two phones in my whole life. In 2007 an N95, for which i did the same FIR thing. Police asked me the first thing while taking the FIR, how was i able the own a 25k device being a college student.

Second one was a Htc Touch Diamond Pro couple of years later from Esplanade metro station (at least that’s what i believe). Had to file FIR just outta necessity and contacted a pvt. detective afterwards, who was like all safari suit gold band watch wearing dude, listened to me like really seriously, only in the end to ask 5k in advance. I was like okay sir, and in my mind murmuring bitch bye and left.

Never in my life ever again i was careless with my mobile phones and results are according to that.

So to answer your question, my avatar of Sheldon is only because out of all the TV shows I’ve watched thus far, his character was one of the most practical I’ve found, and i envy him and characters like Mr. Robot (just the raw talent barring the fucking delusional stuff) just because of their talent (read high IQ) because even i push myself to the extreme I’ll not be able to reach any where near them man. I’m just a stupid pleb bruh.

PS- Even till date i dream about at least tracking the stolen phones. For at least 2-3 years after the incidents i kept searching on Google whether there’s any to track mobiles by imei for us common people.

Yes go ahead.. Do lodge FIR as you have filed a lost and found report they take these complaints very casually and trash it very soon.

Police is reluctant to register FIR because once it’s
registered they under obligation to carry out
investigation and bring the criminal to books, which
would certainly need hardwork and it can hamper their FIR case solving & can damage their PS reputation. Hence, instead of reporting the crime of theft, Police insists the
complainant to make a complaint regarding “missing
property” which exempts police from carrying out any
investigation as no crime has been reported.

It’s important for all of us to know that FIR must be
immediately registered by police for every cognizable
offence reported to them, as per Supreme Court.

So do exercise your duty do lodge FIR even if they insist you to file LOST and FOUND report.

Create your account and file stolen report follow the process as mentioned in my previous comment.

It’s a long process I’m sure you will get tired.

It was more than satisfactory

Blocking sim and erasing means all hopes gone.
What i done with my redmi note 5 pro, i kept eye on google where is my phone. And at night thief turned it on, i get exact location… It was my cooking maid. I visited her place and directly asked for phone or asked to call police. She told she was about to gave it back as her 8 year old boy took from my home without her knowledge.

Yes when it happens to yourself then u will know i also lost my beloved redmi note 5 pro while getting into a train just before aligting in the train my phone was there in my pocket and after that boom gone no one knows where it went also the pocket was a loose type one so can’t feel phone being taken out of my pocket by their if catched i will beat him red and blue

True It is very easy to make fun of people but at some point in time you will find yourself in a similar situation and you will realize that no matter how clever we think we are we all get into these kind of situation.
