My neighbour uncle asked to help identify and buy smartphone in 20k budget. He is daily office goer, so need good battery (but not heavy), good display, sometimes whatsapp video calls and occassionally youtube……overall he looking for simple and easy to carry smooth phone. I would go with Mi 10i/Redmi Note 10 pro/ pro max.
10i(if 5g is necessary)
10 pro max ( without 5g, but good cameras)
10 Pro ( no 5g, but best value for money)

Why not POCO X3 Pro?

Sacrifice 5G and suggest realme 8 pro, might not be a popular opinion but just the fact that MIUI is too heavy with its skin kills all Xiaomi phones for me.

I have used mi devices for several years and got to MIUI but now that I have been using realme x7 for past 1.5 months I know what I have been missing. The OS on realme devices is so clutter free.

8 pro has amoled, light in weight and super fast charging. Very ideal for many. It might not have the bells and whistles that redmi 10 pro has but still is a good option.

Might not be a priority but a few words on the camera present on realme 8 pro

I bought rm8 pro for the same reasons .
Had lost my phone in mar..
Decided to buy a temp phone unless 5g rolls out in 1 or 2 yrs….
I don’t do gaming , i just bought rm8pro considering amoled screen plus 50w fast charging..

As per day to day ops 720g is fine for me.

And not to mention i hate miui . Overloaded ui

If he is intending to use the same phone for next 3-4 years.. then consider the option w/ a fastest processor
Over the time.. the device will become slow (Android OS + App Updates)

Galaxy F62 has got the same processor as Note 10+ (Exynos 9825).. its 2x/3x faster than the Exynos 9611 on A51 // Exynos 9825 ~ Snapdragon 855 //
+ It is a newer launch… so will be supported for a longer period

If not Samsung/Exynos, then Note 10/Pro (If Amoled panel is a priority over faster CPU)
Mi10i 5G/X3 pro (If he is fine with IPS – X3 pro is faster minus 5G)

Most of these phones come with a min 5K mAh battery.. so the chances of charging it again (same day*) will be very less (minus excessive usage).. 25w/33w charging from 0 to 100% in about 3hours should be fine (For Faster charging .. consider Realme phones w/ 65w VOOC)

MIUI updates after about a year of device launch tend to be buggy most irksome being battery drain, particularly for Redmi devices which are only guaranteed one Android OS update, if that. In any case MIUI is sub-par with garbage memory management, infested with ads and massively deviates from standards mandated by Google.
The only saving grace is custom ROM development.

Not at all suitable for elder people. It is 220gm heavy like a brick (you willl need a case too). + 6.7" that too much.
