First thing and important thing and true thing =>> Volkswagen group cars (volkswagen, skoda, audi) are expensive to maintain, simple reason is other cars have optional to use 100% synthetic oil but volkswagen cars we must use 100 % pure synthetic oil, no other choice so every oil change you feel a big hole in pocket, this is maintaining cost

spare parts are costly so they always force to pay for extra warranty, that add big amount to car price, if you not in extra warranty or out of warranty, you’re going to lose big money on every small service.

Running cost (milage per litre) + maintaining cost (engine oil, tyre, service)

If you dont believe, just check the 100 % pure synthetic engine oil and mineral engine price they’re nearly thrice, in volkswagen service centre it will be priced 5 times compared to mineral oil.

few spare parts are not available readily like maruthi or tata or mahindra, reason is they have to be imported, thats why 50+ car are lying around here in skoda service centre in our area (spare parts have to come from czech republic or germany) = > now add import fees and trasportation fees for the spare parts = big bomb in bill, this is for skoda cars but applicable to all volkswagen groups

i am ok with costly spare parts ? then this car is for me

third is reliable factor = volkswagen cars is 0 % relaile and mainly used as second car, not first or important

Volkswagen cars are not reliable, check team-bhp threads they have dedicated thread for “volkswagen reliability” also praise on volkswagen too but more points on negative side

for wedding party or local function or urgent function, your car wont even start even if one sensor wire is short or cut, they have 100’s of sensor, you.

Its rare to see car breakdown in highway these days but not true for volkswagen cars, they break down frequently, atleast all volkswagen owners experienced this (my relative is fed up with this)

so many negative, then who buy volkswagen and why few volkswagen cars in india ?
answer is simple, one and only point is “Fun to drive car”, who buy volkswagen are buy for its “DSG” auto gear box (which have big problem)

this “fun to drive” is the only point that is not cheap.

No point in buying *AMEO => 1 litre engine (they reduced the engine size from 1.2 L to 1 litre, but not price, so same high insurance, warrany package and all..lolz) kills the only Advantage of volkswagen cars “fun to drive”*

so you have to add extra point,* i am buying this car and its really not a fun to drive car"*

Kwid (cheap cars) using 3 cylinder 1 litre engine, ameo also 3 cylinder 1 litre engine, prefer 4 cylinder engines, buy swift or dzire or tigor, they are pocket friendly too.

Ameo will be a big NO from my side

2 suggestion for my side, but that need to satisfy few things

i need a new car but budget is a big problem i dont care about reselling
buy cars in december, every cars get 50,000 to 1 lakhs rs discount
BMW, benz, audi give 3-5 lakhs discount in december as they depreciate faster so this much discount.
tata cars get nice discount too, nexon is really a good car

i need new car but resale value is important too
then you need maruthi cars only, maruthi is like “gold” if you want to sell your used car today means, its possible with only little depreciation , check olx for maruthi cars price but this is impossible for other cars or rare.

you can also check on used cars too, somtime good maintained low kilometer running cars deals are there too in olx, find it

i also was seriously considering, skoda rapid, and then vento and then ameo, then felt expensive car is not worth for me as even ameo diesel top end dsg variant came to about 11 lakhs then. plus the rear seat space is so tiny in ameo. atlast bought tata tiago and am loving it… yes it is a three cylinder but VFM. would have opted for tigor, but automatic was not available then in tigor. tigor is the best VFM in your budget.

Volkswagen Vento looks Good.

Why unnecessarily get into the hassles of a high maintenance vehicle, which is going to be with you for a long time, unlike a gadget or mobile.

Check out the other low maintenance vehicles like Dzire, Amaze, Xcent, Tigor, etc. Or even the likes of Ford freestyle, Ignis, Grand i10, Nexon, etc.

Adjust your budget, requirements a bit here and there. And get a vehicle which is not going to prove more costly during maintenance than when you bought it.

Just booked xcent yesterday s variant. Now xcent is with ABS standard across variants. I had 13 years old variant for which i got 45k car value + 45k exchange bonus. Additionally there is 40k company discount offer going on, also further you can negotiate with dealer. I manage to get 25k, additionally i will be doing insurance at cheap price and additionally i will be transferring 45% NCB from santro insurance

Xcent s variant with CNG at 6.4 lacs + insurance extra… CNG costs 80k extra.

This includes above discounts, old car value, exchange bonus… I hope this helps…you can check xcent new features on their website.

Right now Toyota Yaris is also good in compact sedan….

Never checked mileage , as it’s not Maruti car so no need to check the mileage or average….

You can buy Xcent….

My friend is having amaze…better mileage from Xcent.

Lesser feature than Xcent …

But overall ride quality is inferior than Xcent…

But from my side you should take test drive of Yaris… First…than go to Xcent….

Also there is also a good option of aspire if you don’t like Yaris or Xcent
.. only if you don’t like…

Yaris Out of budget..
Xcent & Aspire I liked Both.. Aspire have only problem with resell rest all fine in aspire.. xcent is good but issue with safety.

Why not an electric? Since you quote limited use.

The cost of running fossil fuel vehicles are going up adding to that maintenance & other expenses.

Not driven new Aspire but drove Freestyle with same engine. It’s very peppy and excellent for city use. Why don’t you check Freestyle ? It has better ground clearance too.

Tigor is a well built car, but under-powered. It is very heavy and the 3 cylinder petrol engine doesn’t do justice.

So, need advice.

Had my car parked in a place. Went there this monday to see the car isn’t starting.
Upon opening the hood, saw rats .
So possibly it has cut down all the wires and damaged something more.
What should I do ?
Get to a local technician and get ot fixed or get it to a authorised dealer to get it fixed ?
Its a Tiago. 2 years old.
