I need to buy a good router for my flat. The router should be good enough to cover 1200 sq. ft. flat. Also it must have good signal strength to cross multiple walls. Any suggestions for a budget router will be much appreciated

Depends on your budget but tplink archer C6 seems to be a good option. As for range, no router can guarantee how they will perform in your usage environment because range depends on a lot of factors like house design, construction material used, interference from other wifi networks etc.

Recently brought Archer c6. poor performance. With in 400sqft it’s not giving proper signal. No way it’s going to cover 1200 sqft. You will need atleast 2more range extender.

Any other similarly priced router giving better range in same setup? If yes then first try replacement after checking router settings(check interference on N wifi channel being used by router by some app/software). 5 Ghz signal will always have lesser range than 2.4GHz signal(principles of physics).

How is Mi router performance ?

There is no Mi AC router available in India which is minimum standard nowadays so no point in asking for its performance.

Finally purchased TP Link Archer C50 AC1200 router. Have kept it in middle of the flat and for last 2 days getting good wifi signals across the flat, even in the rooms across the walls. Connected 2 laptops, 3 mobiles, 1 smart TV, smart clock and google nest. All working smoothly.

Fingers crossed. Hope it continues this way

This is good option. I think it is similar to C6 model except the mu mimo feature

Archer C6 has qualcomm processor & 128mb ram while Archer C50 has mediatek processor & 64mb ram & C50 should have MIMO too as per its chipset technical specifications.
