Points earning revision in HDFC Infinia, Diners and Regalia Card Holders

Yes it is for hotels and flights But for gift cards it is 0.35

For Regalia on Amazon, it was mentioned 5.3% value. Isn’t it below 5% ? @Knight11

Below 5% if you redeem them for Gift Cards, as for a transaction of 10000 it translates around 1300~1350 reward points. For Gift Cards it is 1300*0.35~455(4.55%) Cashback and For Flights/Hotels it is 1300*0.5~650(6.5%) I can’t understand how in article it is saying 5.3%, maybe I’m taking the reward points wrong as it could be more than 1300 but according to me that’s the cashback value now.

I always convert them to actual value that I am getting from the reward points.

Here, he has just converted the additional 4x points to 5.3 rupee for flights, which is right. But it is not same as 5.3% cashback.

As there are discounts on flights, redemption charges, time to accumulate reward points (interest), 30% of flight needs to be paid by card. The effective value of total 5x reward points come down to 4-4.5% only.

My friend has Money back card and he got upgrade offer to Regalia.
He use the card only for Amazon orders via Smartbuy (5% CB). With Regalia 5X rewards on Amazon orders, the value will be less than 5%. Isn’t it ? And it’s better to skip the upgrade ?
