if its retail shop(not Official jiostore) to some extent you can negotiate

they waived of 99(prime) for 56+ days plans, I paid just plan charge

Even plan recharge is free but they charge for it.

Did mine 3 days back from a chatriwala.

Got 1 month 1.5Gb /day plan free.

There's no need for prime anymore afaik a simple recharge will work.

yeah these guys get them for free while charge customers earlier used to see 2 month offers but not consolidated to 1 month mostly. sometimes they ask 20-30 for the such offers.

What guarantee do the shop walas give? Most of the misuse cases I read on newspaper and internet were by the shopwalas only.

BTW now it has become completely online,no ID document is needed to be given. Just the original ID is scanned in the app.

I ported out another of my imp. Airtel no. to Jio today. Rs 239 recharge au gratis just like in January. After coming to know of the upcoming rule change limiting max. no. of connections to 5 per person I have dropped my plans of porting out another 2 secondary nos. which are registered in my friend's name.

No need to furnish any documents at least in case of Aadhaar. I had to just mention my Aadhaar no. despite being an outstation customer. I keep forgetting to quote the masked one instead of the original. 

Porting completed today and able to use data and make calls but not able to add the number in my Jio app. Also weirdly Speed test/Fast.com show really bad results but data actually works pretty fast, 12-16Mbps on average despite not being able to latch onto 4G+ network unlike earlier. But some sites like Twitter for example are slow to load.

No. It remains active throughout except for a few hours after midnight on the 4th day. In the morning the new SIM is ready to be used.
