I'm a non-earner and have a savings account with HDFC... From last 3-4 days, HDFC Bank repeatedly sending emails, msgs, WhatsApp messages to me that I am pre-approved for for credit card. On an email, they have stated my limit will be 36000 rupees. Should I apply the credit card. Previously, I had received same communications from HDFC Bank few months ago... They were offering me IOCL, FREEDOM, and I think TATA neu card. Haven't applied then.
Should I apply for HDFC credit card now? Any experience from any dimers? Please suggest...
Actually I am a person who loves cards... So my heart ❤️ wants to apply the card but my brain 🧠 is not willing to pay any joining or annual charges!
Please answer everyone...

Even if they do hit it will be a soft hit and would not bring ur score down drastically.
Update:
Also if u see the page terms and conditions no where cibil enquiry is mentioned .
Hence at long as u view ur offer no cibil hit

Cibil hits for CC are not soft hits and yes I checked with their customer care and they said they will do the hits whenever we enquire for a card and that's how they determine our eligibility for the card. It might be a different case if there is a pre-approved offer since they have already determined the card they want to offer you. But, one has to be very careful as HDFC sends sms, whatsapp messages and mails all the time with different wording to apply for a CC, they sound like pre-approved but they are not. You can check for the word "pre-approved" in the link you receive, if the link don't mention it then it is not pre-approved and there will be a cibil mandatorily
Do you have a Cibil subscription or have you checked in third-party apps? Score in Cibil website is up-to-date whereas in third party apps like paytm, onescore it gets updated once a month, so, you can only see the hits after a month or so.
Additional info: Got a Neu card for a family member couple of months agowho never had a card and so no cibil. Couldn't able to fetch the score last month, so, I thought HDFC haven't started reporting the card for Cibil yet and then I started checking for all other eligible cards whenever we received a mail or sms. Finally the score got updated and I now see 13 different cibil hits for the last month, all from HDFC at different dates

If you are not earning any and if you do not have any existing loans then it will not hurt as you may not have CIBIL profile. If they really offer credit card for you then it is good for you. It will create a CIBIL profile which will help you to get new Credit cards or loans in future when you start earning. It is also important to properly maintain the credit card usage and make total payment before due date.
You should also note that, until you get CIBIL profile you may not get personal loans or Credit card.
reg. pre-approval of credit card ...
There is also a chance if your parents have credit card/corporate salary account and maintain the account properly.
One more thing, the reason they are offering a credit card is to make you addicted to Credit card usage as you will be tempted to use it in this age and in short or long term they will collect huge interest when you fail to make payment. So, if you are going for a credit card, always make total payment before due date. And Use it only if it is really needed.

You can use any third party app after getting notification to check latest score.

When i applied for couple of cards last year I haven't received any alerts and after a month received all alerts at the same time, out of the blue in the middle of the night. I was worried what triggered the alerts and when i checked the report I understood that they were for the hits happened month ago
