Price fluctuations on Amazon/Flipkart

Does anybody know how prices are determined on ecommerce portals ?
I have seen them fluctuate by 10-30% on daily basis. And somehow both Amazon and Flipkart prices are always in sync.

I would also like to know if this is possible.
Actually forums like this are full of information only from the buyers side, discount there, discount here.
We hardly get any information or tips from the sellers side on how the ecom business works.
Seems like all the sellers are one big gang and just want to get the money away from us buyers, without letting any of their trade secrets out.
In the west, people write up krapolla for their PhD thesis and a lot of it is then used later on and this is one of them. The first to use was the airline industry.. As you can easily see, the price of tickets change every few hours.. It is supposed give more profits than a fixed price.. and many times it is not just the number of available seats but that is also a parameter.. If very few seats are available then prices get pushed higher.. Amazon started using this years ago.. But it has gotten worse now with price changes every day.. Amazon us also blocked price change sites because people were using it to get refunds when price declined so they stopped that.. So now you have to wait until the price is low to buy to get those prices and sometimes you can get very good deals if you wait a few weeks..
That is the reason we are on DD so that the deal hunter 
can hunt products at best and lowest price

If the same seller is using both platforms, it is in sync mostly. I have seen it for some products.
One thing I saw lately,I added a product to my cart, and after some 2hrs, it’s price got increased. So, I checked price history . in , where it was same price for last 2 months.
Either, seller gets notification even if someone viewed or adds their product to cart. Or, I just added it when they were going to increase their price anyway.
