Prime video app on vu premium Android TV

I purchased a VU premium Android TV with Android Oreo. It doesn’t have Prime video app pre installed, nor does the stock play store allow access to the full list of Android apps, which I found bizarre.
Still, I took a pen drive with the Prime video apk and installed it through a file explorer on the TV.
The app starts and goes in to the sign in screen, where I enter my credentials, but it doesn’t make it past the screen. I don’t find the app in the installed list on the TV directly, but can find it among the list of installed apps from settings. Unfortunately, it still doesn’t open or allow me to browse, just goes back to the start screen when I try and open it.
If anyone’s had experience with this, should I be doing something different? This is not pixel light but the full blown premium Android TV from VU.
Do let me know in case anyone has suggestions, thanks…

What does the modded APK modify? Most modded apps allow you to bypass the subscription to those services, but I’m not sure that is the issue in my case…
Does the mod change anything specific about installation or setup on an Android TV?

1. True. But I’d rather not browse from the web. It’s just bothersome.
2. True, but dependencies on other device being always available and within range…
I just imagined there would be an easier, more… satisfactory way to use the prime video app just like others. There must be, I may need to look harder… Perhaps the kind folk here could provide more tips.
Hi, I have Vu Premium Android 138cm (55 inch) Ultra HD (4K) LED Smart Android TV with Cricket Mode (55-OA). now Prime Video is available in Play Store itself and you can download it. But if you try to login by entering the code, it will not sign in. so this app is of no use in play store. Alternatively you can download the apk file and side load it. here also there is a problem. only the apk file from nvidia will allow you to login and you can watch videos. again however after few hours, if you come out of the app and try to open the app, you need to relogin. or if you switched off your tv and on again, you need to relogin into the app again. I checked with both Amazon.in, they asked to check with VU as they can’t help in this regard. then I checked with VU customer care, they said that for some models, they don’t support native Prime and Netflix. In future too, they will not provide any OTA update to support these apps. Now last month, they launched a new model in Premium series which supports native prime and netflix support.
But in some of there model NETFLIX is supported but prime doesn’t why? (In pixelight 55 inch one)
Any solutions for this problem, I have tried with new APK but it’s still unable to login to prime video.

i am using vu tv from 8 months.. initially i downloaded apk and used .. but recently they make app available in play store.. check playstore in vu
I too have Vu premium android- initially app was not available. In between I could download prime app from play store and used it for quite sometime happily . only occasional bug. but I reset the tv today because of some distortion in voice with my 5.1 system and now the app is not available on play store. Anyone knows if it will be available or how to get it?
It won’t be made available. They recommend sideloading the app.
