Amazon delivery executive are not very polite.
Exact same experience at both places i live .
On the other hand ekart delivers at doorstep at both places.
ordered few home items from amazon. delivery person didn't come to deliver so called customer care.then he called at 9.20pm but said if u want products then collect from an area which is like 10-15 kms away.person who attended the call said that it is not possible at that time. so after few minutes he cancelled the full order. called customer care but they said that they can't do anything as product is returning back. discount and cashback is wasted. is there anyway to complain about this? will consumer helpline help here?

Very sad to know that but I don't think you can do anything in this case except wasting time with these morons (cc, delivery person , courier partner) . customer support of all of these websites are worst these days. maximum they can offer you apology
same thing happene with me, delivery guy called at 9 in the night and
asked if he can deliver the product tomorrow, i said yes, he then makred it as rejected delivery and product returned to seller,
Amazon cc was of no help then.
Due to these reasons I stopped online buying of daily use items paji. Faltu ka headache dete hain ye log.
Its Fault in Amazon Delivery process. Customer should get cancellation otp or confirmation call, that he actually want to cancel order.

If OTP can be asked for important delivery 🚚 confirmation then should be also asked for delivery 📦 cancellation.

My one item was recently canceled with reason: refused at the delivery address or the order was canceled?🤔
But both reasons were not true and I was unable to contact CC, every time after a wait of 6-7 minutes calls disconnected automatically! 😡😡
So I decided to forget the order as it was an Amazon Rs 1 Sample!!! 😁

Never faced such problems in Delhi. Can you share which cities are you talking about? Sometimes when it's too late for delivery, occassionally they call and inform that they would deliver next day, but mention that customer requested rescheduling.

used it earlier dont know current policy
I used that too but 1st they repeated automatic answers then I choose to get more help by pressing 9 but it got on waiting and cut automatically after 5-6 minutes.

Now a days Customer service is verypoor in Amazon.
Amazon seller gave Fake Tracking ID to fool Customers . totally Rubish This Website day by Day.
Your locality/city doesn't seem to be a "easily accessible location" for amazon delivery guys so expect more such issues in future. If it was some fresh/grocery order then pick a slot during day time so once order is not delivered by say 5PM then you can contact cc. If it was regular order where the standard delivery timing is till 9/9:30Pm for home type address then nothing you can do other than changing address type to office so delivery will be attempted only till 5PM but that may lead to some other issues in future.

Even swiggy and zomato should have otp to share with delivery person so order will be delivered to correct person.
Depends on the person actually. I know the old regular delivery guys are genuine but some esp new faces I had faced were absolute piece of 💩
Not specific to just Amazon but others too, including Delhivery.

See it can be misused either ways.
A rogue customer may not be there to take delivery and may refuse giving cancellation OTP - that will be unfair to delivery person.
And rogue delivery person may give excuse that customer is not there - that will be u fair to customer.
Cancellation OTP will help cover most of the issues. E-com websites can do other tracking like GPS of delivery person / customer etc.
Experienced this with tatacliq today. After showing an item to my nearest hub for 10days they are finally sending it back to seller.
