Hi,

How much will the registration cost for a two wheeler, scooter/bike etc, and a four wheeler, car, if it is purchased from Punjab or HP and it will be registered as a second hand vehicle in Delhi or Gujarat? They will be for personal usage. For a first hand four wheeler it is ~8-10% depending upon the vehicle’s engine and the state in which it is getting registered.

Thanks

Avoid Bro…Avoid…
Too much of hassle…
1. Get NOC from Punjab/HP
2. re-registration in Delhi/Gujrat for which cost will be (RTO has same % as registration charges for Old or new cars, only difference is that Cost is reduced pro rata based on the car age )…plus they will consider todays cost of new car.(unless you have the original invoices)

1. From where to get these NOC’s?

2. Many questions about this-
a. Say the vehicle price is 5 lacs and it is sold after 4 years to a different state then will the rto include depreciation on this?
b. If the vehicle price is currently 6 lacs then will the depreciation be on this price? And if it is reduced then depreciation on the reduced price?
c. What if the same vehicle is out of production? Then they will count as per the invoice? What if the invoice is not available?

Asking for someone bro. What agreement does a buyer and seller sign? Is the draft of the same available online? Does it need to be on a stamp paper and notary attested? What is form 28 and how to get it?

From the first link

you can get a refund of the tax you paid in the last state by applying at the RTO of that particular state). Ref: http://morth.n...n/, http://morth.nic.in/index2.asp?slid=609&sublink... [Ministry of Road Transport & Highways – Govt. of India]

What’s the refund that he has mentioned? Cannot find it anywhere on those sites.
That dude has written the blog very well, one India is a joke.

Apply online on parivahan for NOC to the RTO where the vehicle is currently registered. Then collect NOC and submit it to Gujrat RTO and submit. Then after the vehicle is transferred to Gujrat. Fill transfer of ownership form, on parivahan and take signature from owner and take photocopy of owners identity proof, address proof and pan for submitting transfer of ownership form to Gujrat.

Bro can you please share steps as in how to do the process online? As per the other comments visit to the RTO is necessary.

Not much idea about this beyond the usual “taking help” from RTO agent.

@billubakra
NOC from existing RTO will take a day or 2 ..(ideally they just need few hours but you need how our sarkari babu works)
You will also need various other forms from the seller (for transform of ownership , I think form No 29/30 or something)

Thanks. 29/30 form seller is not having, from where to get them?

Better create a rent agreement in current vehicle registered city and get the ownership transferred.
Take the vehicle wherever u want. Why re-registration in new state which is cumbersome and costly+time taking.
They(current state) are supposed to reimburse roadtax, nobody ever heard of this.
In Delhi many get vehicles registered in HP for cheaper Roadtax other benefits and bring vehicles to Delhi.
Same in south many high end vehicles get registration done in “Pondicherry” and save few lakhs, these vehicles roam in Chennai/Bangalore etc

Rent agreement or sales agreement? Do you have any draft for the same?
And can you please explain this reimbursement of tax?

1. My cousin contacted an agent. He asked for Rs. 4000, started from Rs. 5000, to get the work done. As per this website the fee is less than 500 https://transientsdiary.wordpress.com/2013/05/0... 7 years forward it should be less than 2000. Is there any way to do this online on parivahan website as mentioned by @SleeperRAW

2. Besides sales agreement (Please share some draft for the same and on what amount worth of stamp paper do we need to get this typed?), Form 28 what other agreements/forms are needed to be signed?

3. This article and @caks2006407 https://transientsdiary.wordpress.com/2013/05/0... have mentioned something about reimbursement/refund. Can someone explain what exactly that is?

4. Any more points about this that one should keep in mind?

Agent will always charge much more than official rates, you decide whether paying extra is worth it in terms of saving the hassle.

Agents always charge but things will be done fast and they will take care of all possibilities
try to contact 2-3 agents and ask the same questions to all agents to get full clarification, so that we do not miss any point.
i dont have much knowledge on this online thing, fellow dimers are suggesting you the right way
Good Luck and keep posted
