Need : To not loose my jio-prepaid no.
What is the best way to keep the sim active - with least recharges/per-year
1. My Last recharge on Jio-Prepaid was 4th Sept 2022 for 14days..
So no active recharge since 20th sept.
2. Incoming Calls/Sms in working fine.
3. How long before incoming calls stop Or the card gets suspended
Not sure if there are any concreate data available on this..
4. Received call 25feb from a nearby jio office asked me to recharge on same day else the number will be suspended.
But, my Sim is still acive [Every month I get a call from Jio support care to recharge..]

Just like banks give database to unrelated companies, people for 'loan recovery'
same way Jio often has this fake tele-calling team of vendors (who are like retention team).
These are fraudulent tactics most of the time, nothing more.
Porting out of some companies also results in similar calls.
But this time the caller acts like they are calling from the company in which one is porting into.
Then they do social engineering to somehow get the cancellation code.

thanks for your detailed response..
Yes - I agree with you the retention team (out-sourced vendor) called me ..(told me that they are calling from jio)
What will be your suggestion on recharging [my sim card is 4years old] ?

one can easily keep the number active either by lowest plan top-up every 100 days or so.
Else if free MNP offers from retailers come by, have it shifted for a few months, but re-entry into Jio
even by MNP may not always be entirely free.
- Keep SIM active (connected to Jio Network)
- Keep balance of ₹20+
- Recharge every 3 months for minimum amount.
- Initiate atleast 1 call during those 3 months.
How you are getting calls from Jio?
Is it on same number?
I also get calls, but I simply ignore those calls.
2 years
no balance
still active
