Hi. I bought 2 lots of bank nifty f&o intraday by paying around 10k to 12k.
But while trying to exit the open position, the ‘funds required’ section was showing around 2L as opposed to my expectation of 13k. Since I had that much funds luckily I exited my position. But what if I don’t have that much amount in my funds balance, then how can I exit the open position?
Upon googling I found that margin should apply only for fresh short sell Orders and not while exiting an open position.
Please note that I didn’t had any other pending order at that time. Can any f&o expert help me out here? Thanks in advance.

if open position is MIS u should place the exit order in MIS only

Yes that’s what I did. On the positions page, there were 4 positions like add, exit, convert details. I selected the exit option.

If you already have a pending open order, it will show margin, if you try to sell again

you must have had either an open SL order or target order. 🙂🙂🙂 Otherwise it will ask you to have full margin. 🙂🙂🙂

I didn’t had any pending order at that time, Orders tab was empty only. Please see below screenshot. @bikidas2060
