Query resolved | Open box delivery of Refrigerator from Flipkart

Hello friends,

Today I am going to receive a Refrigerator(190L) from Ecart. Open-box delivery is available.

I will look for dents. I can’t plug it in right away for obvious reasons. What are the other things I should look for? Does Ekart provide an inspection form? It’s for gifting purposes so I like to be thorough.

No this is not how it works.
The delivery guy will open both the company and brand box in front of him so that he can check each and everything before accepting.

I haven’t ordered open box delivery so no idea.
But as you said check for dents or scratches and labels or seals and if everything is there in box.
There’s not much apart from these to see without turning it on.
Use it for 1-2 days personally if any issues comes up go for return or replacement.

Did you also power it on immediately? If so be prepared to ring customer care for cooling/freezing malfunction very soon.

It’s clear from the above link that the functioning of the product is not covered under OBD. Thanks, bro.

Maybe. Anyway, it’s good for consumers. If there are some issues we can opt for a return.

In Dec 2020 my ordered refrigerator from Flipkart was delivered with open box delivery service.

I had similar queries and doubt and upon speaking with a few people from cc. Learnt though it is an open box delivery, in case of damage/issue with the product it, won’t be taken back at that very moment and but will have to raise a request and the further process will be simpler if issue is reported upon on delivery. Thankfully nothing went wrong in my case so didn’t had to raise any complain.

The delivery fellow was little in a hurry but I told him to be patient for few minutes until I check the product. So the key is, do not give delivery otp until you’re done with checking the product.

Dents + Scratches
Dents are easily noticeable but not the scratches (Noticed few minor ones on my refrigerator couple of days later)
Open Box delivery means, your chances at return/replacing citing physical damage are Zero (Good for them…)
