Hi Dimers,

I bought 60k worth product from FK with HDFC NoCOST EMI as it gave good discount.

What are the options I have to cancel the EMI and get maximum benefit? I know ICICI EMI cancellation is breeze, how difficult is HDFC, will they ask any pre closure charges?

Yes they will calculate interest from your last billing date on a pro-rata basis. Moreover, u will have to pay full amount on next day only of emi closure

You can check all charges and fee and cancel online from mycards.hdfcbank.com > linked EMIs

hdfc emi cancellation is never transparent , last times i saw processing fee + emi_intrst charges

this time it reversed me processing fee but charged me 25rs as Emi_intrst

moreover when i  pre closed from my cards  it shows different amount but when i  paid and checked after 3-4 days it was showing negative amount (i.e i paid extra amount to them,  same thing happened this time as well)

Thanks Bro,

I made the transaction today, should I wait till it get converted to EMI or I can do tomorrow itself?

HDFC also gives reward points for balance amount

That means, I get rewards for the transacted amount?

Should I need to pay only the EMI transaction amount or the entire card outstanding?

Almost all banks (credit cards) ask to pay immediately after closing emi but it is not at all required bcoz u have already converted the txn to normal txn and it will get billed only when bill is generated

Maybe. But hdfc sends sms immediately to pay the amount on next day, but no other bank sends this sms

HDFC can't reverse the emi processing fee if u cancel the complete order/transaction...that shows how worst they're.

Yes wait for emi conversion then cancel it in my cards ..and pay the amount

Also let me know how Much amount u see after cancellation at my cards

And after u have paid amount do u see some negative balance  in next 2-3 days

Also to add on this

Do not forget to pay on the very next day otherwise they will put late fee charges ( as informed by cust care)

I have filled the form to close EMI from mycards website and entered otp. Will the bank customer care contact me or I need to ring customer care ?

on receiving the email or regularly checking mycards.hdfc by logging in, you should place request for cancellation as soon as the transaction is converted into EMI and the processing fees and it's corresponding GST are reflecting there. you should do before to the upcoming bill generation to get entire charges reversed except GST else you will loose one month interest and processing fee.
